"Yes, knowledge will fill one's mind... and it will also open it."
Dear Farmington View Families,
As we move into the week of Thanksgiving, I am reminded how thankful I am to be a part of such an amazing school community at Farmington View. I have the privilege of working alongside parents who are supportive, teachers who give their all everyday, support staff who understand what it means to be a community and of course students who make it all worth it. I am truly thankful and love coming to work each day.
Along those same lines, thank you to all the parent volunteers who came to chaperone on the field trip to the Children's Theatre! It always makes for a better field trip experience when parents are able to come along. It sounds like the play (Judy Moody) was great and the kids had a lot of fun. Thanks for all the support you show as parents.
Last Tuesday Superintendent Mike Scott came to visit our school for a few hours. It was great to have him here to be able to highlight all the great work that is happening around the school. He was impressed with what he observed and was excited to see that we are continuing to lead in new areas. We talked about the notion of how, "just because we are an old school, that doesn't mean we need to be old school." It's nice to be able to show him areas where we are trying new things and giving students unique experiences that aren't available anywhere else in the district.
This is and exciting time of year so be sure to check out all the fun activities that are coming up in the coming weeks!

Wild West Book Fair Coming Soon!
Our Wild West Book Fair is just around the corner. We are looking for a little help prepping (decorating, setting up) and working the book fair. Click on this link to see where you can help. Look for a "save the date" flyer to come home next week with events during the book fair.
We are looking for a few donations for our family night. We will have a photo booth but are looking for hay bales, corn stocks, etc. Anything that would go well with a Wild West theme.
We also need a few Pringles cans. If you have any lying around, please bring them by the library!
Please contact Sara Johnson sarajean378@gmail.com if you have anything you think would work. Thank you in advance. "
