More about TCEA

TCEA is a global member-based organization supporting the use of technology in education. Founded in 1980, TCEA has been playing a vital role in increasing technology funding and access for PreK-16 schools for over 35 years. Around 17,000-member association is led by a grass-roots board of directors, all of whom are professional educators, and TCEA’s offerings all support educators in the field who are enhancing curriculum with digital tools.

Why am I an active member of TCEA?

I review this PNL twice a week. To be honest I am consuming more than contributing. I like the articles published in the blog ”TechNotes Blog", it shares ed tech thought leadership, tips and tricks, and information on new products and trends.

I also have several professional development opportunities in last technologies applied to education and go deeper in specific skills by completing any certifications offered by TCEA, among others: Campus Technology Specialist, iPad Certification. Each certification will provide structure and guidance to help me become a master within that particular area.

Particularly, I love to attend and participate annually in the TCEA Convention & Exposition. I have participated two years in a row and there had had tons of new knowledge and sessions were educators explore best practices for engaging students, increasing productivity, and innovating teaching and learning with technology.

As a STEM teacher and with a project of implementation robotics club in my school (in the past two years), TCEA has a Robotics Contests where we want to participate this year. TCEA’s robotics contests give students the opportunity to develop STEM skills with hands-on, collaborative projects. This particular section offers professional development in robotics for educators via webinars, face-to-face workshops and onsite learning events.

TCEA members are teachers, administrators, instructional technologists, technology directors, librarians/ media specialists, and other campus leaders that support innovative, technology-driven classroom learning. Regular members have access to an array of membership benefits for only $49.00 a year. TCEA offers full-time currently enrolled undergraduate students a free annual membership and retired educators a special $30.00 annual membership dues rate with access to full benefits.
