With the District currently closed until April 3, GCISD wants to keep the community updated throughout this unique time. Learning@Home: Week 2 Information
The Week 2 resources for Learning@Home are now live and ready for students, parents, and teachers to use. As last week’s focus was connectivity and enrichment, this week we are focusing on routines, review, and relationships. The goal will be to help students begin creating learning routines at home using content and tools that are familiar.
Upon accessing the Learning@Home site, you will find the link to the Week 2 content review section. Select your grade band (PK-5, 6-8, or 9-12) and then click on the corresponding grade level (elementary) or courses (secondary). Elementary review activities are designed to include parent involvement. Teachers will be in touch with students regularly this week to interact and expand upon the course information found on the Learning@Home site. Please email learning@gcisd.net if you have any questions or need support.
Student Meal Service Expanding Tomorrow
In addition to schools serving curbside meals, GCISD will begin delivering meals on Tuesday, March 24, via school bus for those families that are unable to come to a school site. Buses will stay at each location (listed here) for approximately 15 minutes, Monday through Friday.
As with our curbside campus service, any student 18 years or younger will receive breakfast and lunch. All students and families must practice social distancing while waiting in line for a meal and receiving the meal from the person on the bus. If you have questions about this service, please email child.nutrition@gcisd.net.

Tarrant County Tightens Restrictions
To mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley over the weekend signed a second amended disaster declaration due to a local health emergency. View the complete order here.
To summarize the new restrictions:
The closure of in-person worship services but will allow worship support staff to facilitate online services.
The closure of malls and other non-essential retail establishments such as barber shops, hair salons, nail salons as well spas and massage parlors.
Essential services such as grocery stores, pharmacies and other establishments that sell household goods will remain open.
In-house dining at restaurants remains closed but drive-in, drive-through, takeout and delivery are still permitted.
There should be no gatherings of more than 10 people regardless of the situation. There is no distinction between the types of gatherings in the amended declaration.
