CELC Weekly Updates
Happy Sunday CELC families! I hope you enjoyed your weekend! Our family celebrated my daughter’s 13th birthday….oh my, we have a teenager! The staff is looking forward to our third week of hybrid learning. We continue to be impressed with our Cubs. Their ability to adapt and preserve in the classroom has been amazing to witness. Thank you for your continued support! The teachers are especially thankful for the ongoing grace and flexibility as they navigate technology challenges all while trying to provide the best possible instruction for all learners. Please review the updates and reminders below to help keep you informed about what is happening on campus and in the district:
EAK registration is open for students turning 5 between 12/2 and 1/31. Call the office for more information.
Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require a 10-14 day stay at home. All students that are out for any reason will be temporarily assigned to distance learning. They can receive credit for their time off campus if they complete work online.
This week is Purple Week. Kindergarteners will be doing “purple” themed activities.
Every Monday is College Spirit Day. Wear your favorite college shirt!
Join us for VIRTUAL FUN FRIDAYS. This Friday, October 16, is Spread Smiles Day! Do something nice for someone to make them smile. Write a note, send a message, or tell them a joke.
There is an AUSD School Board Meeting this Wednesday, October 14, at 6:15 pm in the JMMS Gym.
Mark your calendars- Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up in November. Teachers will be posting a sign up sheet for times the week of November 16-20.
HALLOWEEN- Hybrid A students will be able to dress up on Tuesday, October 27 and Hybrid B students will be able to dress up on Friday, October 30. All costumes must be school appropriate (no crop tops, weapons, blood…) If you have any questions, please ask your teacher for guidance.
We have a CELC Wishlist on Amazon. If you are interested in purchasing something, please view our list at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3SFKL6ROWON5R?ref_=wl_share
Masks are required for parents and siblings when dropping and picking up your student (ages 3 and up).
Please respect the assigned drop off and pick up times. Please do not enter early.
The teachers open the classroom doors when they are ready for the students to enter and/or to be dismissed.
The tables in the lunch area are not open for parents. We work very hard to keep them sanitized. If someone sits there, it has to be sanitized again.
The district continues to serve food during Hybird Learning on Mondays from 11:00am to 12:00pm to AUSD families in need at JMMS.
Cafeteria breakfast and lunch meals are available to students. Please go to https://www.alpineschools.net/o/ausd/page/child-nutrition-services--15 for more information.
The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.
The district has tech support available to parents. Please email helpdesk@alpineschools.net with your technology questions.
The office is currently closed from 8:30 am to 9:10 am and 1:20 pm to 2:00 pm. The staff is being utilized at those times to support student drop off and pick up.
Please send us pictures of your students hard at work. We would love to post them on social media.
If you haven’t already, please pack an extra set of clothes in your child’s backpack. It is great to have a change of clothes on hand for potty accidents.
If your student is in need of a mask (or you would just like a new, cute one), let us know. We had some cloth masks donated by Old Navy.
We are looking forward to another fun and productive week! Don’t forget to wear college gear tomorrow and spread smiles on Friday!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ripke
