AFSA K-12 Back to School Forms

Have you turned in all of your families paperwork for the 2022-2023 school year? If not please submit the folliwng ASAP.

Needed forms/information:

  • AFSA K-12 Emergency Contact/Permission Card 2022-2023
  • Application for Educational Benefits 2022-2023
  • Immunization Documentation (if the school does not already have your student's information on file)

FFA National Convention Opportunity

Students in grades 7-12 are invited to meet FFA members from Region 4 as AFSA travels with neighboring schools to National Convention! Convention is held in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 26-29. Visit the Career and Expo Mall with more than 300 exhibitors, participate in sessions with 50,000 FFA members, and have some fun learning about FFA! There is a fee for this trip. If your student is interested in attending this year's National FFA Convention please click here to receive more information.

AFSA K-12 Family Game Night at The Battleground

Our first game night was a ton of fun so we have decided to plan some more! Join us for all sorts of gaming fun and giveaways and meet other AFSA families! We will have some people leading games and teaching games.

AFSA K-12 game nights are held at The Battleground Cafe (2008 Co Rd E East, White Bear Lake) from 6:30 -8:30 p.m.

AFSA K-12 Culver's Fundraising Nights

Join us the 3rd Tuesday each month from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. for AFSA K-12's Culver's Fundraising Nights at the Little Canada Culver's (2880 Rice Street Little Canada)! Take your family out to dinner and support AFSA K-12 at the same time! AFSA receives 10% of all food purchases from 5-7 p.m.

Student Parking Permits

Student drivers looking to park at school for the school year must apply for a parking permit. The cost of a permit is $50.00 for the 2022-2023 school year. Applications can be picked up in the high school office. Once the application and fee are turned in to the office a parking permit will be issued.

Be a Part of the AFSA StAFSA Community - Now Hiring Bus Drivers and Daytime Custodian

Become a part of the AFSA StAFSA community! We are looking for a few additional staff members. Please pass these opportunities on to friends and family!

  • We are looking for people interested in joining our transportation team! You do not need to have your bus license, we will train you! Benefits are included with 25 hour work week!
  • We are also looking for a daytime custodian.

Looking to get involved? Whether you have students at the K-8 building or the high school or both, AFSA K-12 has many opportunities for families to get involved!


AFSA K-8's parent group is a great way to meet other parents and find opportunities to support AFSA's K-8 programs! AFSA High School:

High School parents interested in getting involved should check out the AFSA FFA Alumni group. This group runs a variety of events throughout the school year including our Culver's Fundraising Nights and the Potato Hug. The Potato Hug is coming up October 8th and we are looking for volunteers to help with the event. AFSA Fall Sports Update

Attention All AFSA Eagles!

All Fall athletes (grades 7-12) must get their athletic fees paid as soon as possible, as they need that completed in order to compete. Volleyball fees are $125 and Cross Country fees are $50. Please contact Ms. Meyer if you need assistance or have any questions regarding payments.


Our Eagles Volleyball team is excited to have our first home game on Tuesday, September 13th at 4:30 pm against the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf! In addition, any students who are interested in playing volleyball must sign up by Friday at the latest. Please contact Coach Lozano or Coach Vorwald if interested.

Cross Country:

The Cross Country team is ready for their next meet at the DeLaSalle Invitational on September 14. Any students interested in participating in cross country must sign up by Friday at the latest. Please contact Mr. Moeller if interested.

AFSA K-12's Potato Hug

You are cordially invited to our 9th Annual Potato Hug, October 8, 2022 , 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at AFSA High School! The Hug is a showcase of student SAE projects (grades 7-12), student artwork (grades K-12), school offerings, and community involvement. This event provides students a venue to display their FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects.

We are looking for:

  • Student Vendors - AFSA students (grades 7-12) interested in participating in the Potato Hug 2022 must register using the attached PH SAE Sign up form. Forms may also be picked up in the main office at both buildings. All student registration forms must have approval from Ms. Leiding or Ms. Crowley. Approval may be through email or in person signature.
  • Adult Vendors (only handmade products)
  • Sponsors
  • Volunteers for the Day of the event - This is a fun way to get involved and meet other families. We are looking for people to help in the kitchen, at the greeting table and more!
  • Artwork for the AFSA Student Art Showcase (see below for more information)

AFSA K-12 Potato Hug Art Showcase

Calling all artists! Students in grades K-12 are invited to submit their artwork to the Potato Hug Art Showcase held at the Potato Hug October 8th. Artwork can be drawings, paintings, sculptures or whatever you have created! Each student may submit up to 2 art pieces.

Attendees to the Potato Hug have the chance to vote for their favorite artwork. Prizes awarded to the top 3 art pieces!

Please turn in your artwork to the front desk by September 30th. Any questions please contact Ms. Forliti.

High School Tutoring Time - Grades 9-12

Starting Monday, September 12th there will be after school tutoring for 9th - 12th graders until 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Families must provide their own transportation for these days. Students do not need to sign up for tutoring on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

However, Wednesday tutoring is also available until 5 p.m. and the school will provide transportation. Students MUST sign up for Wednesday tutoring in the front office by NOON on each Wednesday if they need transportation.

Suicide Prevention Month

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month —a time to raise awareness of this stigmatized, and often taboo, topic. This month is to help shift public perception, spread hope and share vital information to people affected by suicide. Ensuring that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.

AFSA K-12 Family Directory 2022-2023

The school directory is a great way for AFSA K-12 families to stay in touch! If you are a current AFSA K-12 family and would like to be added to the 2022-2023 school directory please fill out the AFSA Family Directory Opt-In Form 2022-2023. The first directory will be emailed out on September 16th with monthly updates throughout the school year.
