Easley Weekly Update
Everything you need to know for the coming week.
December 1, 2019
A Note from the principal
It seems the year has flown by and I can't believe December is upon us. In the coming weeks our students will be taking middle of the year assessments in all grades. In K-3 they will be given the mClass assessment and the new assessment from the state, iStation. This testing will begin the week of December 9th. During the week of December 16th, the 3-5 students will be taking a district assessment measuring their proficiency on the content taught during the first half of the school year.
Winter Express
Believe in the power of a good book and join us for our Winter Express family night this Thursday, December 10th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Students are invited to wear pajamas as they listen to teachers read their favorite holiday books in a variety of classrooms. At the end, everyone will meet up in the cafeteria for milk and cookies. Parents are invited to listen to the stories in the classroom or mingle in the media center until we all meet up at 6:45 PM in the cafeteria.
A Message From Your PTA: Easley PTA Holiday Giving Tree Program
As the holiday season approaches, we often take time to reflect on our blessings. However, not all families find themselves in favorable circumstances and there are children within our own school community in need. This holiday season the PTA will be coordinating a "Holiday Giving Tree" to help these students and families.
How can you help? Beginning Friday, December 6th. You will be able to sign-up on-line through a Sign-Up Genius link (located on the PTA and Easley websites) for items you would like to purchase for donation. From December 6th to December 17th, you may purchase the items and return them to the school office. Please do not wrap your donations. The items will be put together and delivered to each family prior to winter break.
If you have needs within your own family or are aware of the needs of another family in our community, please contact Mrs. Hauser directly by Wednesday, December 4th. She will be able to discuss the needs and maintain complete confidentiality. It would be an honor to help this holiday season.
Thank you for making Easley a great community for our children and families.
