Plot
In 1942, a girl named Korinna Rehme who is 13, is a active member of her local Jungmadel which is a Nazi youth group. Throughout the book, Korinna thinks Hitler is helping and supporting Germany by leading or instituting a program to deal with what Hitler calls the Jewish problem. She witnesses that her Jewish neighbors were attacked and taken from their home. Other than that, Korinnas' parents, are members of a SECRET underground group helping a means to escape to the Jews of their city. Korinna was well surprised which mostly shocked that her parents were hiding a refugee family behind her bedroom wall. When someone and no one knows who , who tips of the Gestapo. Loyalty comes around and Korinna is put to the test on what she really believes and whom she really trusts. But one day after school , Korinna hears sounds while she is doing her homework. Both of her parents tell her its just a mice and then they bought her a kitten. However, Korinna finds out that her parents are hiding jews . Korinna almost turns her parents in, but instead, Rita turns them in for her. Korinnas first feelings of hiding Jews in her house were anger, disappointment and regret.

This historical fiction book takes place in Nazi, Germany during the Holocaust
Conflict
The Gestapo came into the house in the middle of the night without warning to search the house . If the Krugmans are found, her and her family will be sent to a concentration camp along with the Krugmans . There are also many friend fights in this story, most having to do something with the holocaust . However, Rita agrees with Hitlers plans , and makes it obvious that anyone who doesn't , will be reported. Korinna's other friend, Eva, on the other hand, doesn't even know what side shes concerning to Jews. There is also the conflict about the Jungmadel meetings. Korinna really wants to go but is not allowed. Overall, she takes all these conflicts in stride!.

Korinna’s other friend Eva, doesn’t even know what side she’s on concerning Jews. There is also the conflict about the Jungmädel meetings. Korinna really wants to go but is not allowed. She takes all this conflict in stride.
Conclusion
Behind the bedroom wall is a great novel for you if you like heartwarming endings. It is also very accurate, but is still filled with surprises. This story will answer many questions, teach you many things and will also give you the very rare opportunity to read a story written by one of the few people who was on Hitler’s side.
