Tournament Details

Temple University's Gamma Iota Sigma's is hosting its first Annual Charity Softball Tournament on Saturday, April 18, 2015. The tournament will include insurance companies' teams and student teams. The tournament will be a held as a round robin tournament that includes a playoff system and the crowning of a champion. All of the proceeds from this event will directly benefit the Sigma Chapter's Charity of Choice, Brave Hearts For Strong Minds.

Registration Information

There will be 10 company teams and registration is on a first come, first serve basis so register soon. In order to register, the captain from each team must contact Kyle O'Donnell [kyle.odonnell@temple.edu] with the names of their teammates and the company they represent.


To register, each team will have a minimum fundraising goal of $150. Additional fundraising is greatly encouraged to help us meet our fundraising goal of $10,000! Please send checks to the address listed (1801 Liacouras Walk Alter Hall, 601C Philadelphia PA, 29122) and email Kyle O'Donnell that a check was sent and the amount of the check. All checks should be written out to "Gamma Iota Sigma" and sent in an envelope addressed to Stephen Simmons' attention. Once we receive the check, your team will be registered!

Brave Hearts For Strong Minds

Brave Hearts For Strong Minds is Gamma Iota Sigma's Charity of Choice for this academic year, which we have pledged to donate $10,000. Brave Hearts For Strong Minds is a non-profit organization that raises money to donate to 529 plans for children who have lost an income earning parent.

What is Gamma Iota Sigma?

Gamma Iota Sigma is an international risk management, insurance,and actuarial science collegiate fraternity. Gamma Iota Sigma's main objective is to help expose young insurance professionals to the industry.


The Sigma Chapter is Temple University's chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma. With more than 600 members, the Sigma Chapter is Gamma Iota Sigma's largest chapter and is one of the superior chapters within the international organization. The Sigma Chapter includes Freshman to Graduate students who major in either Risk Management and Insurance or Actuarial Science.
