A Science STAAR review was sent home on Wednesday, April 16. We have been working on this review for several days. The review should be complete, so if any information is missing, please encourage your child to research and find the answers.

The homework packet from last week is due Monday, April 21. There will be no homework assigned this week due to the Science STAAR. Instead, please assist your child in studying their review and resting for their test on Wednesday.

Math & Science

In math we will be learning how to evaluate expression. We will also learn how to solve addition and subtraction equations.

In science we will continue reviewing information for the upcoming STAAR test. The test is Wednesday, so make sure your child gets a good nights sleep Tuesday night and eats a healthy breakfast Wednesday morning.

Reading & Social Studies

In Language Arts, we are reviewing sentence variety and combining sentences with engaging, hands-on group activities. We will begin reading and studying classic myths and continue studying dramas. We are also working on improving our writing by using more academic vocabulary and sensory detail.

In Social Studies, students will begin to present their Western Expansion projects to the class. Each student has been working hard with their groups to research different groups of settlers that moved west in the 1800s. Ask your child to tell you about their unique group of settlers!
