Special TUESDAY Edition, 8-13-19

A Message from Dr. Stone

Good afternoon!

Tomorrow is the big day! The teachers have spent the past week getting ready for all of our students to come through the doors tomorrow! I know it is Tuesday but I felt that we needed a special Back to School Edition that has some important information in it.

Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!

Regards,

Dr. Melinda Stone

1st Day of School - Where Do I Go?

On the first day of school, once you enter the building, you will go to the cafeteria. Breakfast will be served starting at 8:10. All students will be released to go to class at 8:35 from the cafeteria.

All students will attend their Administrative Homeroom at 8:45 to pick up their official schedule and ID badge. Once Administrative Homeroom is over the students will follow the official schedule given to them that morning starting with first period. Administrative Homeroom is on the first day ONLY. Starting the second day of school and for the rest of the year, they will start their day off in 1st period. Administrative Homerooms are listed in the rotunda alpha by grade. You can click on the documents below to see where your child is supposed to go.

Remember, the parking lot in the front is not to be used for drop off or pick up. You must use the drive. Please use BOTH lanes and once you get to the front cars will alternate, taking turns from each lane to pull up to the front. Remember to fill in ALL available space when picking up their child.

School Supplies

Students do not have to bring all of their school supplies on the first day except the consumables like, baggies, tissues, paper towels, etc. Students only need to bring a notebook and something to write with on the first day. Teachers will let students know what they need to bring from their school supply packs on the first day.

News from the Registrar

Parents must complete the online Annual Student Update prior to picking up student schedule. Watch for an email from Katy ISD starting August 1st with your student’s Annual Student Update link. For questions, contact LeahCCaffey@katyisd.org

School Appropriate Clothing

Buses will have GPS!

This year, if your child rides a bus, you can track the bus' whereabouts using the Edulog Lite app; however, there are 4 buses of ours that will NOT begin the year with GPS. We hope to get these buses added as soon as possible. The buses that will not have GPS to begin the year are:

518

519

5030

5032

Download the instructions to track your child's bus below.

Katy ISD Transportation Call Center

To better assist our parents of eligible bus riders, the District has established a Transportation Call Center for any questions you may have about eligibility, bus routes, pick-up/drop-off times, or other related matters. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., until Wednesday, August 21.

Staff at the Center can be reached at 281-396-6008.

WCJH Open House

Open House will be on Monday, August 26th starting at 6:30 p.m. for all grades 6-8. More details to come.

Dear Katy ISD Parents/Guardians, Staff and Community,

Katy ISD has launched two new resources for parents and students this school year!

Edulog Lite is a school bus tracking mobile app that monitors the location of a student’s bus. Parents of eligible riders will be emailed a campus code to use in their app by the first week of school.

A+ Pay N’ Go, an online web store, provides a quick and convenient way to pay student course fees, meal payments and other activity fees, all FREE of charge!

Get a jump start on the school year and check out the Pay N’ Go website and download the Edulog Lite app (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) today!
