Enceladus General Info
Have you ever heard of Enceladus? Well, Enceladus is the sixth largest moon of Saturn. Enceladus is the shinny-est object in the Solar System. It has an icy surface, it also has a thin atmosphere. Titan and Enceladus are the only moons of Saturn with an atmosphere. It also may have an ocean underneath the ice. In 2006 it was seen having spurts of ice and water coming off of the surface. Enceladus almost has the living conditions to support life, excepted for the temperature is so cold.
Discovery and Orbit Info
It was discovered in 1789. It was discovered by William Herschel. Most of the information comes from the satellites Cassini and The Voyager. Enceladus orbits above the center of Saturn at 147,950 miles. Enceladus has a different orbit than the other moons of Saturn, because of another moon named Dione. It orbits inside one of Saturn's rings. It also takes 33 Earth days to orbit Saturn.
