President's Message
A Celebration of Light
Saturday marked the darkest night in the lunar cycle and a celebration of the Hindu holiday, Diwali. Somini Segupta shared a beautiful story on Saturday afternoon in the NY Times. The core of the article focused on the celebration as a way to let light shine in “…so we may banish illness and ignorance… restore justice… our children will show us the light.”
Our guiding light filled with kindness, outreach and support leads us as members of our community battle a COVID illness, isolate, quarantine, return to hybrid learning, worry about bills and face food insecurity.
We strive to bring joy and enrichment to all our programming so take a moment to become a member, volunteer or reach out and tell us how to better serve you!

And thank you once again to the many families who stepped up to make a difference in big and small ways. We reached our goal for the Thanksgiving Food Drive (68 families fed @ $50 per family = $3,400!) and appreciate the many pie orders picked up on Monday night.

Explore the Arts and Express Yourself
National PTA's Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
The theme for the 2020-2021 program year is I Matter Because.... Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
