Principal's Corner

Let your child make some choices about homework. He/she has to do it, of course, but he/she could decide:

Whether to do it in his/her room or on the kitchen table.

Whether to do it right after school or spend awhile playing first.

Whether to do his/her math first or start spelling.

Whether to schedule one long homework study period or two shorter ones.

Talk about these choices with your child. Let him/her choose which works best. Of course, if a choice doesn't work ( he/she plays outside until dark and can't get his/her homework finished), then it's time for him/her to see the consequences of his/her actions.
