Inheritance
Marfan Syndrome is caused by a dominant gene known as "FBN1". FBN1 is located on chromosome 15 and sometimes it can also be located on the fifth chromosome. Only 1/4 of the cases are caused by a new mutation, The majority of the people who have it get it from their parents, the parents have a 50% chance of passing it on.
