School Supply Drive September 2013

This is always our first service project of the school year! This is our 7th year sponsoring this service project! We have been able to serve many orphan children from El Salvador and Guatemala. They can have a free education and feel loved thanks to these volunteer's service!

This day they also worked with Dr. Janer stuffing and labeling envelopes for the Texas Hispanic Dentistry Association Scholarship Fund Gala! We stuffed 450 envelopes!

Fun Cultural Day! Cooking Churros!!

Another goal of our society is to learn about the target culture! We are learning about typical foods in this case churros a traditional breakfast and snack in Latin America and Spain.

Other service projects!

Students also participated in the church bazaar selling confetti eggs.

In addition, they made cards for Prisoners for Christmas. Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures of these events!

We hosted the Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass!

The children participated in the reading, prayers of the faithful and brought the gifts to the altar!

Our Second School Drive: Socks and Underwear for the Common Threads Store Project!

We had this drive in February, we collected 2,641 donations for the children of LAMAR ISD! The children worked so hard for this project!! They created signs, made morning and afternoon announcements in both campuses (ECC and main campus). They held up signs for the morning carpool and finally they counted and sorted out donations!

The classes with the most donations per grade level got cookies and middle school students earn homework passes!

The winner classes were: Mrs. Miller Pre-K, Mrs. Rebollido (3rd grade) Elementary and Mrs. Edward's homeroom (8th grade)!

We participated on Bingo night fundraiser!

We sold drinks to help the Philippine victims of the typhoon!

Heart of Worship!

Many of our members volunteered to serve in Heart of Worship! These are some of the volunteers that helped with the set-up in the gym!

Habitat for Humanity Service Project is coming up!

We will be donating and serving lunch for the volunteers of habitat for humanity of St. Laurence Catholic Church!

We have been doing this project since 2008!

National Spanish Exam Competition!

This national competition will take place on the last week of March and First week of April. This is a two-day testing in which students are tested on their proficiency and achievement areas (Grammar, reading, listening comprehension and cultural facts and language content are tested!)

Our students have always done an astounding job in this competition. 128 students have volunteered to compete in the last 7 years. They have earned 80 medals and 35 honorable mentions!

Our honor society members have to represent our society to fulfill their ambassadorship requirement!
