Anne and Ed Pitts Memorial Scholarship
American Business Women Association
Each year the Columbia Triad Chapter of American Business Women Association awards scholarships to deserving young women to help them further their educational studies. The scholarship recipients are voted on and selected by the chapter. Candidates must complete an application and submit the following documents with the application: (1) three character references, (2) transcript of courses completed from the high school last attended, and (3) a biographical statement, including educational background, financial need and other pertinent information about themselves. Applicants must be a female high school senior seeking a business or professional career, in financial need and in good scholastic standing.

AES Engineers Scholarship
AES Engineering is pleased to be able to continue offering scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education.
Scholarship Criteria
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.
How to Apply
Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question:
When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?
Amount of award: $500.00

There is no application packet for this award. Please do not include your resume at this time. Be sure to include your full name as well as the name of the school you are attending this year and your plans for next year. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

It's often been said that "education is the key to success." What doors could your educational "key" open? It's not cheap to get a college degree, and many college-bound students see a shut door for education. We're here to help open it again.
School can get expensive, so we want to know how winning a $3,000 All About Education Scholarship could help make a difference in your life. Will it ease the burden of student loans? American Legion Legacy Scholarship
Anne D. Pitts Memorial Scholarship- Lexington Women's Club
To Apply, complete all parts of the application and write a 200 to 300 word essay stating your career goals and the reasons for choosing your medical field. Additionally, secure two letters of recommendation, one from a teacher/counselor and one from a member of the community.

April Lynn Quinton Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available for a Lexington County School District One high school senior planning to attend a South Carolina college or university and major in Special Education. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and a SAT score of at least 1100 or an ACT score of 22.

ARMY ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS
YOUR COMMITMENT
- An eight-year service commitment with the Army.
- Serve full time in the Army for four years and four years with the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).
- Selected Cadets may choose to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career
BigSun Scholarship - $500
All student athletes are eligible to apply for the BigSun Scholarship, regardless of sport. Requires a short essay to a prepared question. $500 available to announced winners. Application deadline is June 19, 2017.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina Columbia Urban League Scholarship
This $5000 scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating African-American high school senior who resides in Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Fairfield, Sumter, Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, and Allendale counties. Applicants must: Have been a participant in a Columbia Urban League program. Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 to be eligible. Meet financial need requirement. Be accepted by an accredited college or university at the time of the scholarship award.

Bobby Chapman Scholarship
The Bobby Chapman Scholarship is to be awarded to a student who is a graduate (or soon to be) of a secondary school in the Southeastern United States and or participated in a prior Bobby Chapman Invitational. The student recipient may or may not be a golfer, but must be accepted as a full time student to an accredited college or university. Carrie Mayer-Cowan and Benjamin Mayer Memorial Scholarship II
College JumpStart Scholarship
The College JumpStart Scholarship is an annual, merit-based competition -- financial need is not considered -- that is open to 10th-12th graders, college students and non-traditional students. The main requirement is that you are committed to going to school and can express your goals for getting a higher education. The first place prize is a $1,000 scholarship to help cover educational expenses. This award can be used at any college or university in the United States.

Denise H. Bedenbaugh Scholarship
Who is eligible for this scholarship? Any graduating senior in the Lexington High School attendance area, River Bluff High School attendance area, or White Knoll High School attendance area pursuing a post-secondary education may apply. The student must be a resident of Lexington County, South Carolina in order to be eligible.
What is the scholarship? The Friends of Lexington Main Library will award three $500 scholarships to graduating seniors in the Lexington, River Bluff, and White Knoll attendance areas. This is a one-time scholarship that can be applied to tuition, books, fees, etc.

Elaine and Ellison Kaiser Health Science or Agricultural Scholarship
To be eligible, student must:
have completed LTC's Health Science or Agriculture program, GPA of 2.5 or higher, no major discipline infractions, (3) recommendations, documentation of acceptance in a 2 or 4 year college, university or technical school in South Carolina.

Freedom Alliance Scholarship
The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to the dependent children of U.S. military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled as a result of an operational mission or training accident, or a U.S. military personnel who is classified as a prisoner of war (POW) or missing in action (MIA). You must also maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and be enrolled full time to remain on scholarship and to be eligible to renew your scholarship.

Iris Garden Club Scholarship
Application must have been an active member of one of the Lexington County FFA chapters for two years and plan on pursuing a career in Horticulture, Agriculture or a related field at a four year college/university or technical college in South Carolina.

Lexington District One Office Professionals Scholarship - $1000
This scholarship is provided by the Lexington District One Educational Office Professionals Organization and will be awarded to a current Lexington School District One student meeting the following qualifications: -Is a graduating senior who plans to attend an accredited two or four year institution in the fall term following the awarding of the scholarship -Is pursuing a degree in a Business program (Computer Science, Advertising, Marketing, Accounting, etc.). -Has maintained a 3.0 GPA in high school -Is a United States citizen and a resident of South Carolina -Demonstrates through grades, character, and commitment a potential success as a business professional. Lexington Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary Nursing Scholarships
The Lexington Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary is accepting financial assistance applications for those attaining and enhancing nursing education at a variety of levels. Awarded to high school seniors living in Lexington County and planning to earn a Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
LMC Volunteer Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship Application
Completed applications are due March 15, 2017 You may apply for only one scholarship. Incomplete applications will be discarded. Lexington Woman's Club Scholarship
The Lexington Woman’s Club is sponsoring a scholarship for a Lexington High School, River Bluff High School, or White Knoll High School graduating senior (male or female) entering the field of education upon completion of his or her post-secondary degree. The scholarship will have a minimum value of $2000. The criteria for selection include: -Financial need -Academic achievement -Service to community -Leadership ability. Applications are due to the Counseling and Advisement by the deadline April 4, 2017.
Mayer/Cowan Memorial Scholarship II

Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity
The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity is provided by the Community Foundation for high school junior, a high school senior or an undergraduate student. The scholarship aims to honor students who excel as creative problem-solvers and to help make their higher education goals more accessible. The Community Foundation gives 3 or 6 awards of up to $20,000 each to applicants, who will demonstrate exceptional innovation and creativity.The Community Foundation is one of the oldest and largest community foundations in the United States and remains the largest grant maker in a twenty-town region located in the heart of central Connecticut.
Eligibility: High school juniors or seniors who are planning on attending an institution of higher education in CT or NYC.

National College Funding Services Scholarship - $500
The National College Funding Services Scholarship is for participating high schools within Lexington Once School District for a 2016-2017 graduating senior. In order to qualify for the scholarship an individual must complete the official scholarship form. The winner from each school must attend an accredited college, university or technical school to validate the scholarship. The scholarship is a random drawing by April 1st or before Awards Night. The application must be turned in to Counseling & Advisement before the deadline.

Ronald D. Weiss $2,500 College Scholarship Contest
The cost of obtaining a college education has grown rapidly over the past few decades, making it more and more difficult for many people to realize their educational goals. As an attorney, Ronald D. Weiss understands the value of higher education as well as the tremendous investment of time and money obtaining one can involve. In an effort to help a new generation meet their educational costs, Mr. Weiss is pleased to announce that he is offering incoming and existing college students an opportunity to win $2,500 college scholarship. SC Coaches Association of Women's Sports Scholarship for Education Majors
The South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports (SCCAWS) annually offers a scholarship to an incoming female college freshman from South Carolina. The scholarship is a one-time monetary award presented to a student who plans to major in education.

SC Coaches Association of Women's Sports and Trophies by "M" Medical Scholarship
THE SCCAWS SCHOLARSHIP
The South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports (SCCAWS) and Trophies by “M” annually offer a scholarship to an incoming female college freshman from South Carolina. The scholarship is a one-time monetary award in the amount of $1000 presented to a student who plans to major in a medical field.

The South Carolina Council on the Holocaust Scholarship
The South Carolina Council on the Holocaust is pleased to offer a scholarship for graduating seniors that honors the memory of those who perished during the Holocaust.
The scholarship is open to high school seniors who will attend a two- or four-year college or university, with matriculation to begin in the 2017-2018 academic year. Click Here for an application.
Students must submit a 750- to 1,500-word essay with a Works Cited page in MLA format addressing the following topic: Several years ago the SC Superintendent of Education proposed cutting the funding for the SC Council on the Holocaust. Write a convincing argument about the importance and relevance of Holocaust education to South Carolina today.

South Carolina State Fair “Ride of Your Life” Scholarship
Applications are now available at www.scstatefair.org and must be completed online by March 15, 2017.
This scholarship is available to any student in South Carolina who is a senior in a public or private high school or home school. The student must be planning to attend a public or private college, university, or technical college in the state of South Carolina.
The South Carolina State Fair will award fifty (50) $6000 scholarships to students across the state to be paid at the rate of $1500 per year over a four year period. The fifty 2017 scholars will be required to meet eligibility requirements deemed necessary by the South Carolina State Fair. Apply today!

SunTrust Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes offer high school seniors a chance to win a $500 scholarship for their first year of college or private career school. One winner will be chosen at random every two weeks from September 12, 2016 until May 12, 2017.
Vivint Smart Home Scholarship - $5000
One (1) winning applicant will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Award money shall be applied to cover winners educational expenses in the field or major of their choosing. Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards
Each year, more than 3,500 high school students from across the country participate in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. The contest began in 1979 to recognize up-and-coming artists and encourage patriotism in youth. View all the previous first-place national winners. Click here for an application. Who is Eligible to Apply?
- Any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States.
- Maximum student age of 18 at time of local entry.
- Student must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
- Applicant does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary.
What is the Scholarship Amount?
- The first-place winner from each state competes for national awards totaling $21,000.
What are the Scholarship Submission Requirements?
- Art must be on paper or canvas. Water color, pencil, pastel, charcoal, tempera, crayon, acrylic, pen-and-ink or oil may be used.
- Digital art and photography is NOT ACCEPTED.
- Submit canvas entries on stretcher frames or canvas board; other entries must be matted on white.
- Do not frame.
- Art should be no smaller than 8” x 10” but no larger than 18” x 24,” not including the mat.
