Remote Learning FAQs

Q: How are students counted present for a day of remote learning?

A: There are 3 methods we will use to verify student attendance on remote learning days. One or both may be used to count a student present.


1- Student logs in to ClassLink by 8:30 each morning.

Login is a student's lunch number and birthdate in the format MMDDYYYY

2- Teacher has contact with the student/or parent (through email, Canvas course, Remind, or phone call).

3- Student competes and submits assigned classwork for the day of attendance.

Q: How do I contact Teachers and School Staff?

A: There are multiple ways to stay in touch with teachers and school staff.


You are welcome to call the school office at any time. The number is (336-431-4078)


Altrenatively contact teachers and staff through email. Access a teachers or staff member's webpage on our school site to find their email address.


Check to see if your child's teachers use the Remind App to stay in touch.

Q: What's my students' login information?

A: Students have a login assigned for use on school devices and with digital tools provided by Randolph County School System. Teachers will spend time during the first few weeks of school helping students with login and accessing their accounts. Once their account has been claimed, students may login using the information below.


Keep in mind that students must return several beginning of the year forms in order to access digital tools for school.


Computer Login- This is a student's lunch number and birthdate in the format MMDDYYYY.

This same login is also used for a student's ClassLink account, email account, as well as Google Tools.


EdCloud / Canvas / Power School- First initial (capitalized) + last initial (lowercase)+

8-digit birth date (mmddyyyy)


NOTE: This login will NOT work until teachers have assisted students with claiming their account.


This year Randolph County School System has added a single sign on tool called ClassLink which will make logins for students much easier. When logging in to a school device this is what will come up when a stuent entered his/her computer login. When logging in to a personal device, the will first need to click the ClassLink icon on Braxton's website and then login with their computer login info.

Q: How do students access their email?

A: There are multiple ways for students to access their email. It is important that students know how to do this, and that they check their email daily.


Whichever method students use to access their email, the login information is the same.

Q: How do students access their schoolwork remotely?

A: If your child is working online, they will use a program called Canvas to access their assignments. For a more detailed explanation about how this works, watch the video below.


If your child is working with paper packets, please be sure that the school has an up-to-date phone number for you. We will contact with information about packet pick ups and completed work drop offs. You will receive contact from your child's teachers via phonecall throught each week to provide assistance and check on your child's progress.

Q: How do I get help with the technology??

A: Contact the RCSS Technology Help Desk with any technology problems.

The helpdesk is staffed Monday-Friday 9:00-11:00am, 2:00-4:00pm, and 6:00-8:00pm.
