Principal's Coffee..... Friday, February 8: starting at 7:45. Open to everyone
This week's quote is by Booker T. Washington
Success is to be measured, not so much by the position one has reached in life, as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.
Habit 4: Think Win Win
Our next habit of study, THINK WIN WIN, is the first habit we use with our friends and classmates. When a problem or conflict occurs, we use our words and work together to find a solution that makes both people happy. This is called win-win. There are other ways to solve a conflict that do not make everyone happy. These are called: lose-lose, and lose-win. In Montessori, students are invited to the peace table to solve the problem and make "peace".

What is the peace table?
A Peace Table is used in a Montessori classroom to allow a child to have a short period of silence on their own. When a child is upset over a disappointment or angry over a situation, the student can sit at the peace table to regain control over their emotions. A Peace Table can also be used by the children to encourage conflict resolution through peaceful and respectful communication. When used for conflict resolution, it encourages children to talk about what’s on their mind and gives them a specific place and method to achieve an agreeable solution.
