Happenings:
- Return to in person instruction-Since it is possible to return to in person instruction, with a virtual option while we are in red status, it is important that students returning understand masks will be worn at all times reasonably possible, if the county is in red status. Exceptions would include when students are eating behind a plexiglass shield, actively playing an instrument, or performing an extra curricular activity where not wearing a mask has not been restricted by the ECHD.
- Virtual choice-Families who would like to continue virtual learning for 2nd semester may call the office at 294-6586 to inform us of your decision.
- Twitter-Follow JJHS on twitter, @JimtownJrHigh
- Newsflash Parent Newsletter-Continue to check out our weekly newsflash for upcoming events and information in classes.
- Tutoring Opportunity-I am looking for anyone looking for home schooling or tutoring for their child. I have recently moved tothe Baugo school district. I have formerly worked for Elkhart Community Schools. If anyone has an interest in this type of service please email me at vikingz1fan@yahoo.com. and I will get back with you promptly. Attention to Lorna Smith.
Notes from the Nurse-Mrs. Dean
For Students (and Parents!) who are returning to in-person learning:
During this Season of COVID-19 and Influenza:
- ALL Symptoms Matter!
- Stay Home and Call the School, NOT send to School then Call Home!
- If in doubt, keep your child home and contact the school.
We want to be in school and be able to continue in-person learning!
Counselor's Corner-Mrs. Manges
We are looking forward to welcoming the students back to school after break! JJHS will be having a student intern in our office and she is looking forward to meeting everyone. We will be starting small groups as well in January. Mrs. Erin Rapp, BCS Social Worker, and I will be heading up two groups, and Ryan's Place will be conducting a grief group. If you are interested in finding out more about these groups, please email Mrs. Manges @mmanges@baugo.org. Hope you all have a blessed Holiday!
Math Class Happenings:
Accountability is huge when it comes to any math class, but in the virtual world, the importance is magnified. In 7th grade math, we are using socrative.com to reach every student and give instant feedback. Although socrative does not fill in every gap that virtual learning can cause, socrative does provide the accountability to check on every kid for every problem, which is a win!
From Mrs. Monroe--8th Grade Math
This month our 8th graders took their IReady Growth Diagnostic Test. It was wonderful to see all of their hard work paying off and how much they've achieved in just four months! I can't wait to see how much they continue to grow throught the rest of the year!!
