Student Holiday Feb. 12 & 15

Aledo ISD students do not have school Friday, Feb. 12 or Monday, Feb. 15, as those two days are staff development and teacher work days on the calendar that was revised in December.

The district is following closely and getting regular updates from the National Weather Service on the potential inclement weather that is arriving later this weekend. We will communicate any weather-related school changes through parent email and text as well as on our website at and through the district's social media channels.

In the event that the district has to close school next week due to inclement weather, ALL students would learn remotely during the closure.

A shift to all students learning remotely would only happen on the day(s) schools are closed if inclement weather necessitates a closure. If that happens, each campus would send specific information to its families about what remote learning looks like for the inclement weather closure.

2nd annual Aledo Reads a Success!

Aledo ISD students enjoyed guest readers, books by the "fire" and more during the second annual Aledo Reads day! Reading helps with language development, expands a child's imagination, aids with comprehension and so much more. Ask your student what fun Aledo Reads activities they participated in at school today!

“Different doesn’t mean less than. We can be a different type of school, but it doesn’t mean that we’re less than. We should be building [students] for their futures.” - Aledo Learning Center English teacher Lindsey Coomer.

Learn how Coomer and fellow ALC teacher Gayla Fernandez have shifted the way they deliver instruction in the classroom, and how they shared that important message when they presented on “Increasing Rigor, Relevance and Relationships in Alternative Education” during the statewide virtual annual conference for the Texas Association for Alternative Education last week.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is coordinating the rollout and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines all across Texas. They have created a COVID-19 Vaccination Plan for Texas which includes phases that identify groups of individuals eligible to receive the vaccine first, and then next and so on.

The Department of State Health Services also provides a map of locations all around the state showing where providers of the vaccine can be found. Anyone eligible to receive the vaccine now can reach out directly to any of these providers to verify eligibility, and request an appointment time to begin the vaccination series. The DSHS map can be accessed here.

Individuals seeking the vaccine do not need to go to their doctor or PCP nor even get the vaccine in the area or county in which they live. Here is where you can find information about COVID-19 vaccines in Parker and Tarrant counties:
