Presidents' Update
Dear McKinley Families,
Thank you Angela Stowe for coordinating and executing Family Fun Fest and to the volunteers who stepped up to help make the event so great. The kids certainly had lots of fun dancing, playing games and eating cotton candy that was donated by Firefly Real Estate - thank you!
Wendy Von Rueden, thank you for coordinating the recent Box Top collection, which made over $206.00. All the money goes directly to the PTO Initiatives.
The McKinley PTO consists of parents, teachers and school staff. We are all members of the PTO. All fundraisers, such as Adult Auction and Social, Bake Sales, Book Fair, Box Tops and Dine Outs, help fund key PTO initiatives, such as High Interest Day, Annual School Wide Art, Field Trips to First Stage and our composting program.
If you are at all interested in serving on the PTO Board, we have the following positions available for the 2020/2021 school year: Treasurer, VP of Committees and Corresponding Secretary. If at all interested, please reach out to us directly so we can discuss over coffee.
In this edition of the PTO newsletter look for more information about:
- Math Night
- Adult Auction and Social Wish List
- Miss Molly's Dine Out

The popcorn maker has been located! We're so excited we can offer freshly popped popcorn at future McKinley events!
Have a great week and see you at Miss Molly's on Friday!

We're again teaming up with Mathnasium of Wauwatosa, so we should have some of your favorite games from the last couple of years. Hope to see you there!
Adult Auction and Social Wish List
Each year the McKinley PTO chooses a special focus for the money raised during the McKinley Auction & Social. We are excited to announce that this year's focus will be our McKinley’s new future through both its students and teachers! This important fundraiser not only helps to fund key PTO initiatives such as High Interest Day, annual school wide art and theater field trips and our composting program, it also generally raises money to support a special project each year. This year’s theme is Investing in OUR Future and with our new school building construction about to begin, the special project is really to help fund “special” needs that will come along during the building phase when life as we know it around McKinley will be tested for space and flexibility, as well as individual classroom teacher needs.
We are looking for donations for the auction and need your help. If you are able to donate any item or experiences please contact
Bill Koch at bkoch54@toadinfo.com.
Miss Molly's Dine Out This Friday
Friday, March 13th during their business hours (7 am - 3pm) that day Miss Molly’s Cafe and Pastry Shop on center and Swan will graciously donate 20% of sales that mention McKinley back to our school! This is a new restaurant for us for Dine Out. Before work or if you are off Friday come and grab some coffee, pastry, or a meal to benefit our school and let them know you are there for McKinley.
Wednesday, April 8th Colectivo Coffee on Swan and North will be giving McKinley 5% of their total prepared food and drink sales all day! For this event you don't have to even mention you are with our school unless you want to thank them for supporting us in this way. (Gift cards and bagged coffee do not count in this total, though.) We are very excited about this new collaboration and support from Colectivo!
Friday, May 8th all day is a fundraiser for McKinley with Yo Mama in the village. Come pick up pints, frozen yogurt or gift cards to use this summer and let them know you are with McKinley to get 30% back for our school.
