Red Ribbon Week, Bat Expert from TAMU visit, Bat Feast, OH MY!!
We are super busy this week! Not only will we start our bat unit but we will have many fun activities to go along with it this week! And we are standing up together to be drug-free! I hope to have 100% participation!
I am going to send out the items needed for the bat feast tomorrow in the take home folders, please send non perishable items early and food items the day of, thank you for all your help! All parents/families invited, we will have food and fun games!

Monday, October 28th - Camouflage Day- “Join the Fight Against Drugs!”
Wear camouflage clothing.
Tuesday, October 29th – Western Day- “Give drugs the boot.”
Wear western attire.
Wednesday, October 30th – Red Day - “Take a stand for a DRUG-FREE land.” Wear Red today.
Thursday, November 31st - Book Character Day- “It takes character to say no to drugs.” Dress up as your favorite book character.
Friday, November 1st- Pajama Day- “Follow your dreams, don’t do drugs.” Wear your pajamas.

We will continue our study on good reading strategies and also focus on personal narratives in writing. Ask your child what a small moment is...
Math: Place Value
We are diving into place value this six weeks!
We used pretzel sticks as our tens and mini marshmallows as our ones....
This past week we learned about tens and ones...
learning about place value was quite tasty!
Next week we add the hundreds place!

We just finished our mapping unit and now onto investigating matter and solids, liquids, gases, OH MY! Fun science experiments headed our way!
