Student Success Team CELEBRATIONS!
- CONGRATULATIONS to Danielle Davis--the newly appointed Principal of Vernon Johns Middle School! She will finish out the year at Blandford Academy, then begin her new role on July 1, 2017. We are VERY, VERY PROUD of her accomplishments!!!
- CONGRATULATIONS, Ms. Payne and Ms. Harvell! The Walnut Hill ES Destination Imagination team won a statewide award, qualifying for the global finals (GF17) and making the Colorful Tigers the most successful Destination Imagination team ever from Petersburg! Across the world, Destination Imagination teams compete in creative, problem-solving challenges that incorporate STEM, art, service learning, risk taking and lots of fun. Coached by Patricia Payne, gifted resource teacher, the team is made up of fourth- and fifth-graders from Walnut Hill Elementary. During the statewide competition on April 8 at Atlee High School, the Colorful Tigers won third place in the Vanished fine arts category and qualified for the global finals May 24-27 in Knoxville. We are very, very proud of our students—and the Student Success Team Members who supported their fine accomplishments!

Thanks To Everyone Who Made Kindergarten Registration Successful!
Petersburg City Public Schools hosted a divisionwide Kindergarten Registration Day on Thursday, April 20th. Petersburg City Public School registrars, principals, teachers, nurses, support staff, central office personnel, and parent volunteers, worked together to make the day a tremendous success! Thanks to the work of the team, many of our youngest students are registered and ready for their BIG STEP into elementary school--and beyond!
