The complete absence of law, order, and government is was caused Anarchy. Anarchists believe that social justice can only come from the destruction of government, or extreme individualism. Modern anarchism sprang from the secular or religious thought of the Enlightenment, particularly founded from Jean-Jacques Rousseau's arguments for the freedom of moral centrality.
Characteristics:
- Sacco and Vanzetti were italian-born anarchist, they were both convicted of murdering a guard and a paymaster during the act of robbing of a shoe factory. Both the men stuck to a pressure of anarchism that supported relentless warfare against war, violence and oppressive governments. They were found guilty of first degree of murder in 1921.
- The word anarchy comes from the greek root “"without a leader or ruler”. “Proponents of anarchism have most often used the term to refer to a natural state of society in which people are not governed by submission to human-made laws or to any external authority”, (Esenwein).
- Three important parts of anarchism are the state and its institutional framework, religion, and economics.

The unfairness and injustice of the Sacco and Vanzetti case caused worldwide protest. They were convicted only because they were anarchist immigrants. It has set a precedent in the court system.
