Principal Message

Parents,

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend with your family! We look forward to greeting our student leaders tomorrow for a great week!

I would like to ask for your help with a few safety concerns. Our car rider line is definitely getting faster now that the routine has been established. Thank you for patience!

In helping make the process a safe one, please remember the following while dropping off or picking up students:

  • In the morning, use one of these three options: car rider lane in the front, after 7:30am use the back curbside car lane, or park in the visitor parking lot and walk your child into the building using our crossing guards for safety. Dropping students off in the parking lot is not a safe practice.
  • Be sure that your car is not blocking Wilderness Oak traffic when turning left into the school.
  • Remain in the car lane behind other cars rather than pulling out of the lane. We have seen students, adults, and cars almost get hit when cars pull out of the lane. Follow the car lane all the way down and into the flow of traffic;
  • Use one of these two car rider procedures in the afternoons: the car rider lane or park & pick up in the back.

Thank you for your help! Safety comes first!

Thank you,

Tara Bailey

NEISD's PTA Council Spotlight On... Tuscany Heights Elementary PTA

"Tuscany Heights has a student population of around 850 and this year over 180 students were new to our community. THE Welcome Back nights can be intimidating to new families because of the large crowds, meeting the teachers, purchasing spirit wear and agendas plus the cafeteria accounts. We wanted to identify new families so our PTA and school staff could give a little more attention to them. THE student leaders manned all the entrances to the school with a welcoming smile and a beaded necklace for students and families who this was their inaugural year at Tuscany Heights. The new students and parents wore the necklaces that evening and on the first day of school. Keeping with the welcoming atmosphere, PTA changed the yahoo/boohoo breakfast to First Time Tigers! The new format incorporated the typical kinder information plus allowed new families to learn about THE also." Mandy Howland
