  • Ensure that you keep your student home if they are not feeling well.
  • Students must wear their mask above their nose at all times while in the building (except when eating lunch).
  • Call the front office if your student will be absent due to showing symptoms that could be related to COVID 19.
  • Students are not permitted to wear airpods/earbuds in the hallway. These will only be permitted to be used in classroom by teacher discretion.
  • The tardy bell is at 7:10 am and our release time begins at 2:05 pm.
  • We will continue to monitor the traffic pattern. Please be sure that your student is ready to exit the car when you arrive on campus.

Athletic Meetings for Track

We will have track beginning with tryouts on April19th. Students must have a current physical on file. If your student's physical was prior to March last year then they will need to have a physical before tryouts. Tryouts will begin the week of April 19th. There is a required parent meeting prior to trying out. We have scheduled 2 options for a required virtual meeting. Option one is on Tuesday 4/13 @ 7:30 am or on Thursday, 4/15 @ 12:00 pm. The link for the meeting will be posted on the HCMS facebook page and the school webpage on the morning of the meeting. If you attended the volleyball or baseball athletic meeting it is NOT necessary to attend one of these options. Remember you must complete the form at the end of our presentation. Below you will see the requirements for eligibility. Students who are interested in trying out for track will need to sign up on the papers outside the cafeteria by Friday, March 16th so we can ensure eligibility. For eligibility information see the section below with more details.

Big picture

Panther Paws Raffle

Students will be given the opportunity to earn Panther Paws for 75% or higher in all classes on their progress reports and report card, having perfect IN PERSON attendance, meeting the IREADY WIG in both Math and ELA, and/or being selected as student of the month. Students will be given the tickets that they have earned and then they will write their name on the ticket and place it in the raffle box by the guidance area.

Thank you to the parents, staff, and community members who have donated items to raffle. We have received AIR PODS, 2 TV's, a SKATEBOARD, an ECHO DOT, and a GOOGLE NEST.

Attendance Letters

Attendance letters went out in the mail this past week. These letters are required at every 3, 5, 7 and above 10 absences. If you have an illness, dr's note, etc please send these in for the days absent. If a student did not log in online they are counted absent. If a student does not attend face to face instruction on the assigned days they are marked absent.

Attendance is an important predictor of success in school. So, it is necessary to be in school on the 2 assigned days and online for the other 3 days.

April WIG

All students will complete a FOUR IREADY Math and FOUR IREADY Reading lessons by April 30th. We do have a Panther Hour competition going on so students are encouraged to complete more IREADY lessons if possible.

Students may work on these lessons at home too. These lessons are on their individual pathways which assist with closing the gap of individual learning.

Promotion Guidelines

NOW IS THE TIME TO WORK HARD! Many students stated that not being on campus all five days as a reason for not completing work so now that we are all on campus students should be excelling!

  • Students must pass MATH, ELA, and either Science or Social Studies.
  • Students must pass one year long combination of ENCORE Classes.
  • Students must make adequate progress on their EOG tests.
  • Attendance is also taken into consideration.
