Anne Wien Announcements
School Newsletter for Week of October 26, 2020
Dear Anne Wien Elementary Families,
These past days have been incredibly challenging for our school community after learning of the unexpected death of staff member Rebecca Lewis last week. "Miss Rebecca" served our community in so many different ways: as our Attendance Secretary, former Kitchen Manager, Fresh Fruits & Vegetables Program coordinator, Leslie's Children coordinator, After School Program Secretary, PTA Staff Representative, Thanksgiving Feast coordinator, and Sunshine Committee staff coordinator, to name a few. It will be Miss Rebecca's bright and welcoming personality that we will miss most of all. She has given all of us so many wonderful memories. If you would like to share a special memory of Miss Rebecca or a message that you'd like to send to her family, just "reply" to this email or click on the button below and we'll pass your message on to her son Cooper, mother Judith, and sisters Wanda, Crystal, and Myra. Thank you, Anne Wien Family.
If you believe your child could use additional support in processing feelings or dealing with grief, please contact us right away (907-451-7500) and our Counselor Grace Ferreira will make sure our support team is here for your River Otter. Thank you, all.
Remember, there will be no school for students this Thursday and Friday due to Parent/Teacher Conferences on October 29-30. Conferences will all be online via Zoom or Google Meet for 20 minutes, so thank you for meeting with your teachers and sharing your observations from 1st Quarter.
Also, thank you all for supporting our PTA "Believe Kids" online catalog fundraiser. This is the final week of the fundraiser and all students who sell at least one item will be entered into a drawing for 3 different prize baskets from our AWEsome PTA. Thank you for your support!
