Welcome, our new principal for 2023-2024...Mr. Lenie George!
Letter from Principal Lenie George
I am Mr. Lenie George, the proud incoming principal of Parsons Elementary. I am truly humbled and honored to serve in this amazing school. I’m proud to say that Gwinnett is my home. I grew up in Gwinnett County Schools, and had the opportunity to see the commitment of passionate educators from an early age. Here at Parsons Elementary, I see a tradition of excellence, dedication, and support. I see a vibrant culture of joy throughout the building. Most of all, I feel the authenticity of a thriving community. I have been in education for 17 years, joyfully serving students, parents, and teachers. My journey started as a high school mathematics teacher in Chicago, Illinois. The path continued, as I worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Georgia. For the past 6 years, I’ve had the pleasure of serving as an Assistant Principal. Throughout my time in education, I have witnessed so many valuable life experiences. I have seen teachers lead with passion, heart, and empathy, as they inspire students. I have seen students grow into lifelong learners, who model care and cooperation with their peers. My role is to continue to empower Parsons, because I value the shared teacher leadership and the true culture of collaboration. You all have a strong culture of excellence at the school. It excites me to listen and learn from each and every person, and to be woven in the fabric of this One Ridge community. Thank you for entrusting your children to the amazing work being done at Parsons. I commit to serving this community with pride and passion. I look forward to working with you to continue to enhance the academic excellence at Parsons Elementary! In the coming months, I look forward to meeting each of you and to working together to ensure that every child at Parsons receives a solid foundation on which to build future learning. We are One Ridge and we have Parsons PRIDE!

Are you getting rid of your old wagon? Our PE teacher, Ms. Rodriguez could use your wagon! Transporting items for field day and other events is a big undertaking. Donate your old wagons to Ms. Rodriguez. If you would like to make a donation, please email her at jacqueline.rodriguez@gcpsk12.org.

AKS At Home
As part of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ family engagement initiative, the school district seeks to empower parents with tools that allow them to help their children at home. Our AKS at Home project provides math and language arts resources to support families of children in grades K-5 so that they truly are partners in their children’s learning. This support is available for families to access in the format that suits them and their schedule best. They can attend live virtual meetings, view recorded information, and gain tools and suggestions on how to best help their children through tip sheets on a wide variety of topics. In partnership with the Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL), GCPS provides Tutor.com as an online tutoring resource for students. The expert tutors at Tutor.com can help your student work through a tough homework problem, improve writing skills, study for a test, review a difficult concept, and so much more! Live tutoring support is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, students can receive “drop-off support,” 24-7, by uploading a document for tutor feedback that will be reviewed and returned at a later time.
