Making Figurative Language Comics in ELA 6!
Week 11 - Second Quarter Begins!
Second quarter is in full swing here at MPMS! Many students started new elective classes this week, and first quarter grades are now finalized and locked into PowerSchool. (Click below to check the first quarter report card for your student.)
Wednesday, November 13 is our first quarter honor roll assembly. Honor roll is awarded for all students who have a 3.5 GPA or higher. (This means more A's than B's on their report card.) If your child earned this recognition, they received an invite letter in homeroom today.
7th Grade will also be going on a field trip on Wednesday, going to see a play called Reach Out at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. Students will return to MPMS in time for lunch - it will be a great experience!
Reminder: No School on Monday for Veterans Day - thank you to all veterans for your service.
Have a great weekend!
Q1 Honor Roll Assembly is Wednesday!
A=4.0
B=3.0
C=2.0
D=1.0
F=0.0
After converting grades, add them up and divide by 5 to see the GPA for first quarter. A good rule of thumb is if your child earned more A's than B's (with no grades below a C) then they would be on honor roll!
There are two types of honor roll based on GPA:
Principal's Honor Roll: 3.5-3.99
Superintendent's Honor Roll: 4.0
Congratulations to our awardees - and I hope to have even more honor roll recipients in second quarter!
