Reading/Math
We are continuing to learn consonant blends in our Heggerty Phonics Series. Remember to keep practicing the red words that come home in the homework packets. Many materials can be used for nightly reading: ARC books, any decodables sent home, library books and books you many have at your home.
We will take the Unit 6 math test this week. Unit 7 incorporates 3D shapes.
Unit Goals
- Students identify, describe, analyze, compare, and compose two- and three- dimensional shapes. Counting, addition, and subtraction are revisited in the geometric contexts.
Section A Goals
- Compose shapes from smaller shapes.
- Count and compare numbers, and solve story problems involving shapes.
Section B Goals
- Compare weight and capacity of objects.
- Compose shapes from smaller shapes.
- Describe and compare three-dimensional shapes.
