A note from Mrs. Bland
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer break! We are only a few weeks away from the start of another great year of teaching and learning at Paddock school!
Please visit the Paddock website for all Back to School Information. On Friday, August 14th, you'll be able to view your child's classroom teacher through Infinite Campus if you've created a portal and completed the re-registration process. There will NOT be a paper summer mailing this year.
Our annual Meet the Teacher event will look a little different this year. You will receive an email from your child's classroom teacher the afternoon of Monday, August 17th with a special welcome message.
We continue to find ourselves navigating through a start to the school year that is not traditional, comfortable, or easy. Know that whether we are together in person or just in spirit, the Paddock Staff and I are committed to assisting and supporting you every step of the way. We are looking forward to getting the 2020-21 school year underway for both our virtual and in-person learners.

CHROMEBOOK and Materials Pick-Up!!
We are excited for you to pick up your Chromebooks and materials for your children. Chromebooks and materials will be distributed on Monday, August 17th, and Tuesday, August 18th. We have scheduled the pick-up times as follows by your child’s last name:
August 17th
8:00-2:30 A-L
August 18th
8:00--2:30 M-Z
Our goal is to provide families with their devices and supplies in a quick and efficient manner, while following social distancing guidelines, to ensure the safety of our staff and families.
To reduce the need for direct contact with our staff, parents will be asked to pull your car up to the front of the school (Door 1). Please do not leave your vehicle, as we will be bringing your Chromebook and materials directly to your car. Please open your car window so that a staff member can place supplies in your car with minimal contact. You will need to bring a pen to sign the Loaner Chromebook Responsible Use Contract when you pick up your materials. To help us identify who you are during the drive-up times, please write your child’s last name and first name on a piece of paper and place the sign on your passenger window/windshield. This will help us quickly identify the correct car to place your device and materials in.
If you have children that have two different last names please pick a time that correlates with one of your children's last names.

If your child has a Health Care plan for asthma or an allergy OR has medication they need to take at school, please make sure you read the linked documents and get in contact with Mrs. Pool, our Paddock nurse. You can reach her at 847-963-5802 or poolk@ccsd15.net.
District 15 Helpline Now Available
Do you need help and are not sure who to contact? Do you have concerns or worries about yourself or others? The District 15 helpline is only a call or text away Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Our student services staff are available during these stressful times. Call or text:

Calls or texts received outside of these hours will be answered the following workday. You can reach out about multiple topics, including but not limited to:
Social or emotional concerns;
Resources such as food, housing and transportation; or
Ideas on how to support your child during the stay-at-home order.

Why did you become a teacher or why did you want to work in a school?
I have always loved working with children. There simply is nothing more invigorating or humbling than to connect with a student in a way that changes that student's life
What inspires you?
When students thoroughly enjoy learning and you can tell that you are making a difference in their education. Also, being around passionate and positive people.

I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Why did you become a teacher or why did you want to work in a school?
I have always enjoyed working with people and helping them make progress toward achieving their goals. When I was in high school, I started coaching a local swim team and that opportunity really clarified for me that I wanted to go into education.
What inspires you?
Working with individuals and teams to champion change and growth.
