Gompers journey...#180daysofwhy..#students
Happy Counselor's Week Mrs. Frank...You are Appreciated and Valued!!!!
Gompers,
It is an honor each day to walk through the gates/doors and know that I have a great team of educators, who are working and striving to ensure our GATORS have the best educational experience. I appreciate and value you....this past month has beennnnnnn quite busy and I want to acknowledge your nose to the grind in getting it all done.
Ooooh WEEE and Yikes!!!
There is no harder job than being a classroom teacher....THANK YOU for all you do!!!
As you know lots of new opportunities are coming this semester...we will work to do our best to implement, risk take, reflect and revise as we go along....that's what we want our kids to do each day and what better way than to lead by example. Additionally, the SDM and Safe and Civil teams (subcommittees)will be working behind the scenes to present viable options for Quarter 4 implementation of supervision schedules for staff. Lastly, master schedule changes for ES and MS are inevitable for 2020-21; but an amazing opportunity to really dig deep to enhance and move our site to possibilities of GREATNESS will unfold.
Looking forward to a powerful week of collaboration opportunities for reflection around where we are in relation to our Action Plan and end of year goals in the Professional Release days. The ILT or as we have nicked named ourselves "learning leaders" is supporting and owning the work of modeling and applying DOK understandings to advance daily learning intentions to transferrable skills.
On Monday, 2/3 Ms. Frank and I will be with all counselors and principals across our district at a Master Schedule Symposium dealing with Equity and Access. Dr. Brown from Poly High School will be on-site as the Administrator for the Day; he may even pop into classrooms. On 2/6, Mr. George Tsai from the MSK8 office will also be on-site as Administrator for the day!

Please view/show the broadcast at some point this week with your classroom/students.

Rising Voices Literature (supplemental) - K-5
You received a box of multicultural literature that supports our district's efforts for equity and inclusion in daily application with curriculum resources. The resources are a part of RISING VOICES, and how do we create, support and enhance the voices for children through their daily learning opportunities. One way is to see and visualize themselves in text.
Please review this slide deck:

Please note, this is the second set of "supplemental text" resources that you have received this year.
At this time, We will not go over this collectively as a staff but as grade level, you may do so and how it may be implemented into your classrooms additional reading opportunities.
