Goooooood Morning #OneFamily!
KIDS ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We cannot wait to see over 70% of our kiddos in person this week! And for those 240 kiddos that are remaining virtual, we will continue to rock it for you as well! We are super duper excited to see all K-5 this week! Check out below for more information about our return to school.
Love to all our #onefamily!
JR :)
Return to School - 1st - 5th
- Material Distribution for Virtual Kiddos: Every two weeks, beginning today, we will have a material distribution for all kiddos remaining virtual. Come by anytime between 8:30 - 6:00PM today to pick up any materials you may need. Teachers will inform parents if they need to come by via their weekly newsletter. Upper grades will have less materials for pick-up than our younger grades. (ie. 5th does not have any for today and 3-4 only have specific classes that need to pick up materials). Check with your child's teacher to be sure.
- Kindergarten Pick-Up: Because we are just getting on a distribution cycle now, we have materials out there today for ALL kids. Group A and B, in person and virtual, have things to pick up so they can complete their work before coming to school in person.
- Breakfast and Lunches: ARE FREE FOR ALL kids! Every child will receive a breakfast to eat in person and then a breakfast and two lunches to take home this week. Later this week, families will receive an email from the division offering you the option of opting out of the free meals. Click HERE if you wish to see the menu. Fresh veggies, fruits, and food are included in most meals! They really are incredible!!
- Air Filtration Systems: They arrived on Thursday and are in every classroom in the school!
- Town Hall Meeting: Video from our Town Hall on Wednesday below.
Important Information
- Morning Announcements: These will now take place on Mondays at 10:15 AM. They will be led by our 5th graders and Mrs. Knight. After today, we will no longer go live on my youtube channel for morning announcements. The link to the announcements will be sent out this week and will be in each canvas page for kiddos on Mondays.
- Car Riders: Click HERE to see the route that we use. (same as kindergarten and also same as last year).
- Daycares: If your child attends a daycare and will be coming in to school, please make sure they are following the CDC guidelines and the governor's order regarding masks. We have been told by several that they do not require the children to wear masks which goes against those guidelines. I have reached out to each center to ask them to make sure they were following this, but it always helps to have the parents ask as well. Children of America was the only one that told me that they do not require them.
- How do I get to my class? Below are videos that you can watch to see how to get to your class from all three entry points. And, all of our entire staff will be out there to help you get to your class. Don't worry. We got you #onefamily!
- Free Halloween Costumes: If you would like free Halloween costumes, they will be on a table out front of the school today. Come by and take any that you wish.
Future Events
- PJs on October 30th for Lily: 6 years ago, Conway lost Lily Noakes, a first grader here, to childhood cancer. To ensure we never forget her, we honor her every year by wearing PJs or Pink to school. We then encourage people to make donations to FGP to wear PJs to school. Due to Covid, we cannot accept cash, so we ask that families consider making donations to FGP in Lily's memory. Click below to donate. LOVE FOR LILY! https://fairygodmother.networkforgood.com/projects/49913-donations
