Belle River Elementary News
It is a super active time of year here at Belle River. Our calendar is filling up fast with a lot of exciting events. Right now we are in full swing with assessments. Our 5th graders have finished their M-STEP assessments. Our 3rd & 4th graders are up next. All grade levels will be completing their final NWEA testing this month too.The testing process is running very smooth with the use of our building Chromebooks and iPads. Students are very comfortable using the devices and the carts allow students to test in the comfort of their own classrooms.
We are excited to honor our teachers next week during Teacher Appreciation Week
May 3rd - May 10th!
Marwood Nursing Home writing contest winners!
Charlotte Ming (3rd) and Emma Arnold (5th) submitted essays titled "My Best Older Friend" and were chosen as winners of this special writing contest! They will be honored at a special ceremony and both receive a special prize! We are so proud of you!
Night of Cultural Creations
Belle River had a wonderful celebration! Mrs. Milligan and Mrs. Malburg joined forces to create a very special night for our families! Each student from Belle River had a beautiful framed piece of art available for purchase. Students created special projects throughout the event including paper flowers and rock painting. Everyone enjoyed a special ice cream treat too. Thank you so much Mrs. Milligan and Mrs. Malburg!
Earth Day Celebration at Belle
We would like to extend a very special THANK YOU to Courtney LaBuhn and the Marine City Nursery for donating the beautiful new tree for our school yard. We appreciate your generosity and kindness.
Thank you Mr. Westerhof for organizing this special event for our Belle River staff and students. We look forward to watching this new little tree grow. We sure enjoyed participating in this Belle River Earth Day tradition!
Pioneer Days at Belle River!
Our first grade classrooms had the Port Huron Museum presenters in their rooms for Pioneer Day. Students were encouraged to dress as a pioneer would have during that time. They participated in several Pioneer activities such as tin punching, candle making, quill pen writing, quilt pattern making and the all time favorite...making and eating ice cream. They also had special visitors who demonstrated an old-fashioned working Civil War cannon.
Congratulations to our high schools!
Marine City High School is ranked #3,542 in the National Rankings and St. Clair High School is ranked #3,579 in the National Rankings. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college. Read more about how we rank the Best High Schools.
