Progress Reports Came Home Thursday, Sept 2nd
Progress reports came home today. Pre-K students do not receive progress reports until the end of the quarter.
In addition to the progress report, parents will receive a report of how your child did on our recent benchmark testing.
Students in grades K-3 will receive the mClass Home Connect report and the i-Ready report. These are our reading and math reports. Kindergarten also received a letter from your kindergarten teachers.
If a student has a consistent deficiency, as defined by the Alabama Literacy Act, then you also should have received this letter. Those who received these last year received a continuing letter, along with a copy of the reading plan for your child. Anyone who now falls under this category but did not last year, received a letter letting you know. We will be contacting you soon in order to develop a reading plan for your child. All of this can be overwhelming but it is now the law and in the end, we believe that this will help ensure your child is reading by the end of 3rd grade. More information can be found below under Literacy Act and the AL Family Guide.
Students in grades 4-5 received STAR Reading and Math reports along with their progress reports.
If you have any questions about any of these reports or would like a virtual conference to discuss these, please contact your child's teacher.
Parental Portal for Grades
Other parents will receive this information tomorrow (Friday).

Endeavor COVID-19 Update
I just want to say thank you for doing what we have asked of you to help slow the spread. We are wearing masks and distancing ourselves where and when we can. We are also excluding students who have been exposed. We realize that this is very hard on parents and students, however, I am happy to report that I believe it is working. So thank you all for doing your part and helping Endeavor stay healthy.
Currently, we have 19 active cases. This is down from our high, which was around 40 I believe. The chart changes daily but many of our students are getting well and returning to us. The number getting sick seems to have slowed down.
Nurse Paige and I are here to answer questions or help in any way. Just contact us!

Interested applicants must apply on the state website which may be found by going to the mcssk12.org website and looking under employment. If you have questions about this position, please call. We need to fill this position ASAP.
Endeavor always needs parents who are willing to be substitute teachers. Sometimes our teachers and aides have to be out. When they are, we need people willing to step in so that our classes continue to learn. You can sign up to sub even if you want to work only a couple of days in the week. If you are interested in substituting, please contact Mrs. McAlister. firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for being added to the sub list is Sept 30th.
