No school - Monday, September 5th - Labor Day
A message from the Principal-Mrs. Bookman
To our Suffield Family,
We had a successful start to the 2022-2023 school year. It was an amazingly smooth start! The Back to School Celebration the day before was so much fun! I just loved seeing all of the families out enjoying the beautiful evening. We'd like to thank Miller Party Rental for the tents, tables, and chairs; Lifetouch for the water and chips; and Duma Meats for the delicious hot dogs! Thank you to everyone who came and also to those who helped out!
We have many new student faces at Suffield. Besides of all of the kindergarteners, we have approximately 25 new students who are new to our school this year! We love adding new students to our already amazing school family! Please reach out and welcome anyone new!
We have concluded our week of kindergarten testing and next week we will welcome A-L students on Tuesday and Wednesday, then M-Z students on Thursday and Friday. All Kindergarten students then begin all-day, every-day kindergarten on September 12th. We can't wait to have all of those smiling faces at one time!
We would like to remind you to refrain from arriving at school for morning drop-off before 8:45 unless your child is having breakfast. Those who are having breakfast can pull up and drop off at 8:30. If your child is not having breakfast, please be sure to join the line in the back parking lot. That line will move at 8:45 when regular school drop-off begins. So far we've been doing excellent with this! As our kindergarteners are added over the next few days, this could change, so please support and help out the new families with this process!
Remember to have your child's name card available at the time of pick-up. Please rubber band or clip it to your driver's side visor. This allows the person calling the names to be able to see it clearly. Keep it showing until your child gets into the car. This way we can confirm that we have the right child in the right car!
I hope that you enjoy the beautiful Labor Day weekend with your family. We will see everyone back at school on Tuesday!

Birthday Treats
At this time, we will allow Birthday Treats to be brought to school. We are required to inform you of the Healthy Eating Guidelines (see below) and suggest that you use this when selecting a treat. Whatever you choose, please note that all treats brought to school for the purpose of sharing with others, need to be prepackaged so we are able to know and see the ingredients list. There are many students who have a variety of food allergies and having the ingredients listed helps the school nurse determine if a student with allergies can eat a particular treat.
