The staff and I look forward to the learning journey we are about to embark on with your student(s) during the 2021-22 school year. Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us!

District Return to School Plan
Also linked within Dr. Talley's email was the Fall Plan that was presented to the Board of Education on Monday evening. Here is the FALL PLAN LINK for your review.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation with regards to the requirements and mitigation strategies that will be in place as we begin the school year.
Meet & Greet Important information
The health and safety of our students, staff and families will continue to be a priority as we begin the new year. We DO still plan to host a Meet & Greet on Tuesday, August 17th. Here are the parameters that we ask that you consider before choosing to come to visit that day:
- In an effort to limit the number of individuals in the building at any given time, we ask that families visit during the assigned time, based on the alphabetical breakdown (below.)
- Families should limit the number of adults visiting with a child(ren) to no more than two. Families who can attend with only ONE adult is highly preferred!
- Based on the Governor's Mandate and Dr. Talley's email communication, all individuals entering our school must be wearing a mask before entering our school buliding. This includes children and adults, vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. Thank you for your cooperation.
- When visiting your child's classroom and teacher, families should limit the time to less than 15 minutes. If you have more than one child, we understand that you will have more than one classroom to visit. Visits to each classroom need to be brief so as to avoid situations of close contact for greater than fifteen minutes.
- We invite families to socialize outdoors, after your visit, if you choose.
- We will have multiple doors open to enter and exit. Please review the listing of teachers and room assignments, below, to identify where your child's classroom is and what door it would be best for you to enter/exit. Staff will also be available at entrances to assist you in finding a classroom.
- If you are unable to attend on August 17th, students will be assisted in finding their classrooms on the first day of school and may bring their school supplies on that day!
Families should plan their visit during the following time frame, based upon the first letter of your child's last name:
Last Names A - H (2:00 - 2:30 pm)
Last Names - I - R (2:30 - 3:00 pm)
Last Names - S - Z (3:00 - 3:30 pm
We look forward to seeing and welcoming our students next Tuesday for Clow Meet & Greet!

Due to health and safety practices and procedures, only students will be allowed in the building on the first day of school. Staff will be available to assist all students with entering the building and finding their classrooms. Please understand that parents/guardians will not be admitted into the building. Thank you for your understanding.
Please review the arrival and dismissal procedures linked below.
Plan for Kindergarten First Day (with Parent/Guardian)
We are excited to welcome our newest Cougars to Clow School on Thursday, August 19th, for a shortened visit! Please see below for important information regarding this special day:
While Thursday, August 19th is the official first day of school in District 204, kindergarten students will only attend for a short period of time on this day. We believe it is important to use this day to help kindergarten students ease into their new learning environment.
Kindergarten children and a parent/guardian (no more than 2 adults should attend with each kindergarten child) will attend a session based on the schedule listed below. Parents should arrange for childcare for younger siblings as they will not be permitted into the building for the visit. Thank you for your cooperation!
Please use the information below to determine your scheduled visit time (thank you for adhering to this schedule):
Last Names beginning with:
- A - H (9:45 - 10:30am)
- I - M (10:30 - 11:15am)
- N - R (11:15 am - 12:00pm)
- S - Z (12:00 - 12:45 pm)
More details will be provided via email from your child's kindergarten teacher.
School Hours
Regular school hours are 9:05 am – 3:35 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students may begin arriving each of these days at 8:50 am.
Wednesday school hours are 9:15am – 3:35 pm. This late start allows time for staff to engage in professional development opportunities. All arrival procedures, student supervision, and bus service will be delayed by 10 minutes every Wednesday of the school year.
Lunch & Snack Procedures
In past years (excluding last year), students were able to bring a snack to eat in the classroom, either in the morning or the afternoon depending on the grade level lunchtime. Students may opt to bring a snack to eat at school, based on these guidelines. Snack time will be BRIEF, will be limited to fresh fruit or vegetable (no packaged foods, dips, sauces, chips, bars, etc.). This limitation to fruits and vegetables assists with creating a safe environment for all students in the classroom. Thank you for adhering to these guidelines if you do choose to send your child with a snack. Students who choose to bring a snack will only have their masks off briefly to eat their snack and teachers may consider taking the break outdoors, when the climate allows. Specific information related to optional snack time will be shared by your child's classroom teacher.
We encourage students to come to school each day with a water bottle. Students will have access to water filler stations, if they should need to fill their bottle during the school day.
Lunch & Recess Schedule
Additional schedule information will be shared with you by your child's classroom teacher.
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
If you have not yet completed the Arrival/Dismissal Information Form (linked below) NOW IS THE TIME! This form should be completed for each student you have at Clow School, prior to August 19th. Thank you!
