Spring 2022 Testing
Tests & Test Dates
Starting May 19th, we will be administering a variety of tests:
- End-of-Grade (EOG)- Students in grades 3-8 will take a reading EOG and a math EOG. Students in grade 5 & 8 will also take a science EOG.
- End-of-Course (EOC)- Students taking high school Biology, English II, Math 1, and Math 3.
- CTE Post-Assessment- High school students currently taking Apparel, Culinary Arts, Interior Design, and Career Management.
- NCExtend1- Students in grades 3-8 and grade 10 in the Adaptive program.
Our school's testing window is May 19-20, May 23-27, and May 31-June 2, although available dates will vary depending on site. At the bottom of the email you received, you will see the test(s) you're assigned to take, as well as the date, time, and location.
COVID Precautions
All testing sites have gone through a thorough screening process and necessary modifications have been made to ensure all NC DHHS COVID-safety requirements for schools will be followed. Precautions in place at all sites include, but are not limited to:
- All staff, students, and parents/guardians will be required to wear a cloth face covering when inside the testing site.
- Hand sanitizer available at sign-in and in all testing rooms.
- Reduced number of high-touch surfaces.
- Thorough cleaning of high-touch surfaces each day.

If your student is unable to participate in face-to-face testing due to a medical condition and their doctor is able to provide documentation of their restriction, please reach out to our Testing Coordinators at ncvatesting@ncvacademy.org.
Additional Information For All Tests
- Arrival Time- Plan to arrive at the site for check-in at your student's assigned test time. Failure to arrive on time may result in the test having to be rescheduled.
- Parent ID- The person bringing the student to testing must have a photo ID. Students will NOT be released without parental ID.
- Health/Release Form- Please help us shorten the sign-in process by completing the Health/Release form online prior to test day. Please put 7/1/2022 on the form as the end date for your Approved Adults, so you don't have to redo the form if your child's test gets rescheduled. You may resubmit the form at any time to update your information. Subsequent submissions of the form will override any previous form submissions, so it is important to complete the form in its entirety each time an update is needed. Go to bit.ly/ncvahealthreleaseform to access and submit this form. Note: The form must be filled out at least two business days prior to your test in order to be processed in time.
- Test Length- Test times below are an approximate.
EOGs: 2 hours
EOCs: 2-3.5 hours
CTEs: 1 hour
NCExtend1: 0.5 hours
- Water- All students are strongly encouraged to bring their own bottle of water, in case they get thirsty during testing.
- During Testing- In an effort to provide a quiet testing environment, adequate space for testers, and reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19, parents will sign their student(s) in and then wait off-site or in their vehicle.
- Rescheduling- If you must reschedule your test date/time or if you are absent from your test, there is no guarantee we will be able to accommodate you at your original site.
- Failure to Participate- Any student who misses their test cannot log any attendance hours for the day of their test and may be administratively withdrawn from NCVA.
- Other Details- Your Site Lead will be emailing you soon with more information specific to your site.
Student Drivers
If your child has their driver's license and will bringing themselves to their test(s), a parent/guardian must submit the Health/Release form (bit.ly/ncvahealthrelease) in advance and must indicate that the student has permission to sign themselves in and out. The student will need their driver's license or another photo ID to sign themselves in and out.
ACTION ITEMS for All Tests
- RSVP- return to the email you received from testing@ncvacademy.org. At the bottom, click the "Click here to RSVP" link and enter your rsvp status by 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 26th.
- Health/Release form- submit the Health/Release form by 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 26th. More information and a link to the form can be found in the "Additional Information for All Tests" section above.
- COVID Self-Screener- On the day of the test, before leaving home, please be sure you can answer "no" to both of the questions below. If your answer to one or more of these questions is yes, please reach out to our Testing Coordinators at ncvatesting@ncvacademy.org to determine if your test must be rescheduled.
- In the last 5 days, has your child experienced COVID-19 symptoms (fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, sore throat, cough, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, diarrhea, vomiting, new onset of severe headache especially with a fever) that cannot be explained by another cause?
- In the last 5 days, has your child been diagnosed with COVID-19?
**All parents have the right to request and be provided with information regarding any state or local educational agency policy regarding student participation in any assessments mandated by the state or local educational agency.
