Principal Update
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year. Hoping that you had a great holiday with your family and friends.
We have had a busy first week back. First off, the students returned to our school wide theme of “Peace Begins with Me”. Banners that match the logo above decorate all the hallways and the hall bulletin board is full of photos of our students who are full of “Peace:! As the school year continues , we will have various activities and assembles that zero in the importance of peace, kindness, and friendship.
And speaking of activities, we need you! Please reserve Friday, June 9 to help us with our all day Circus Amongus. This amazing program for our students will find them participating in ten circus acts–from rolling barrels to unicycles, to low flying trapezes. It is a day of amazement for our students and you will love it too!! We need 110 volunteers to pull this off–and we are reserving spots right now!!! Just email me at katherine.sheiko@wbsd.org.
Our Winter NWEA tests in Math were given this week and Reading will be next Tuesday for Third and Fifth grades and Wednesday is Third Grade. Please make sure your children have a good night's sleep, a nutritious breakfast, and arrive at school on time!!
Sheiko Shark Spirit Days are upon us again. We will celebrate each and every Friday by wearing our Spirit wear. Be looking for the flyer to come home soon, if you would like to purchase Sheiko Shark Spirit wear..
And finally, mark your calendars for our first PTO sponsored Roller Skating Party at Bonaventure–Friday, January 27 from 6 to 8:30! TIckets are sold at the door.
Enjoy the weekend and I hope to see you on Sunday at 1 at WBMS for United We Walk!! Look for the Sheiko Shark sign so we can all walk together. See the flyer for all the details.
Best Regards,
Kathy Sheiko
