Slice and Dice News

Mrs. Dufresne's Second Grade - September 21-24, 2015

Curriculum Notes

We are working on using doubles to add and subtract and solving word problems in Math. Due to the shortened week, we will have our spelling test on Thursday. I had to leave early on Monday, so hopefully the words made it in their planner! If they didn't, please check the bottom of this newsletter!

Our focus in English Language Arts this week is how a pet can be an important friend. We read a story about a K9 policeman and are so thrilled to be having a K9 policeman from the Rocky Mountain Lab visit us on Wednesday afternoon. We will get to meet Jennifer and her bomb sniffing golden retriever! We will also be participating in a distance learning program with the Texas Wildlife Association about Awesome Opposums on Tuesday. It's a busy, but fun, week!

Important Dates Coming Up!

Friday, September 25 - No School (professional development day for staff)

Thursday and Friday, October 15th and 16th - No School (MEA / MFT Educator Days)
