Message From Director
OH WHAT A FEELING! I AM SOOOOOO PROUD of the results of the hard work that are starting to come in. It has NOT been easy, getting to know a new leader, getting to know a new staff, getting to know new scholars and parents and still staying focused on your "WHY" is not a easy task! But PEAK, we did this WORK TOGETHER and we did it genuinely, with frustration, and sometimes tears, the "C" word change, and YUP we persevered through it all! Now it is NOT nearly over, but what I do know is that WE can and WILL finish this way in every area and grade level if we "FAINT NOT"! There is still some greatness in each and everyone of you that our scholars are depending on, if you PUSH, they will PUSH. The choice is yours and I know you will make the right choice for our scholars!
5th Grade First Round Scores
94% Math
82% Reading
Shout out to Lisa and Ashley for your work with our SPED scholars, while we don't have their specific scores, I know for a fact that your dedication to our scholars, you guys coming on Saturdays to help our scholars and your high level of accountability with them daily has contributed to the growth we have seen in our scholars.
Thank you to our all of our interventionist for your help and support as well in helping these scholars. We will have little to no scholars needing SSI summer school for round 3! How awesome is that!
Round 2 STAAR is in two weeks!
Baby Hamilton Celebration!
Chief of Schools Tour on Monday
Our New chief was, of course, very pleased with what she saw. She could not believe that kinder scholars were effectively conceptualizing what "fact" and "opinion" was, or that they were learning the understanding of actions based on prior experiences with the vocabulary words of "resiliency" and "gentleness" based on the book "after the fall" during read aloud. I was glad she was able to see the daily greatness of Peak. More importantly, the promise of continued future greatness!
Instructional Focus
- Ensure they know what the question is asking
- Ensure that before we have scholars begin to answer questions that they are having the discussion about what they think the answer choices are
- ensure they are covering their answer choices up
- push them with pacing and timing, they must understand that if they don't finish it's automatically wrong, and we are not giving up points!
MAP and F and P
- Teachers remember my push to ensure scholars know their goals and if they met them or not and now what they need to work on for remainder of year. I had a lot more coming ot report to me this week and I love their awareness.
- 3rd-5th Grade teachers your request was heard and granted, you have been granted an extension for completion of F and P until after STAAR. :-)
Hallways
Teachers please be mindful about constantly releasing scholars into the hallways for restroom and water. Things happen that you are unaware of and then scholars report them to parents and then, we have to answer questions about supervision, that really can't be answered.
It's then end, but not yet, let's be aware and steadfast.

This week Mrs. Hamilton’s class will lead announcements. We are going to focus onAppreciation. Appreciation is appreciating the wonder and beauty of the world and its people.
Below are some ideas for morning meeting topics to discuss with your scholars this week:
- Does appreciation just involve art that we see in museums or in the theater? Where do we see beauty in the natural world?
- How does having appreciation for the beauty and complexity of our planet help us care for and protect our planet?
- How can we show others that we appreciate what they have done for us?
- How can we show others that we appreciate their opinions, even when they are different than our own opinions?
