Box Top Contest – JES earns 10 cents for each Box Top. Our last check was $813.60!! The next contest will be by CLASS. The CLASS that brings the highest percentage of Box Tops will get to play a basketball game called “Hot Shot” with collegiate athlete, our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Oakley. Start sending them to school ASAP to get the competition rolling AND because some of the box tops expire on March and PTA will send those in early. Final deadline for class basketball contest in Friday, March 2nd.
We Need Yearbook Pictures- Do you have fun pictures of JES students at SCHOOL events? (field trips, class parties, family learning nights?) The deadline for submitting photos to the yearbook committee is March 9th. Michelle Barthelemy works hard to equally represent every grade level and kids from every class. **Easy to find app to upload YOUR pictures for the yearbook. Upcoming PTA Meeting - “Many hands make light work!” PTA needs YOU to help collaborate and vote on decisions affecting JES students and staff for the remainder of the 2017-18 school year. There is a full agenda so join us in the library on Wednesday, February 7th at 2:00 pm.
Parents as Teachers
Do you have a child birth to age 5 at home? NISD hosts monthly playtimes for parents and children from birth to 5 years old, before Kindergarten entry. The Parents as Teacher family involvement program will meet on Friday, February 9th at the Special Programs Center, 1800 State Highway 114. There are two options for playtimes at 9:30 am. or 1:00 pm.
