Superintendent's Update - Dec 16 - MES to use AMI days
Mountainburg Elementary School to go to AMI days Dec 17, 18 & 21
December 16, 2020
Dear Elementary Parents,
We are currently experiencing a small number of positive cases and a high number of quarantines due to possible exposure. We have two grade levels of teachers out, several support staff, and a lack of substitutes to cover classes. Grades K-4 ONLY will move to AMI Learning for the following dates:
Thursday, December 17 through Monday, December 21, 2020.
Students have been sent home assignment packets to practice skills as we end the semester. Please return these with students on January 4, 2021.
We are hopeful by sending students home we can reduce the potential for current spread, assist with contact tracing, and deep clean classrooms.
Grades K-4 will resume on-site instruction on Monday, January 4, 2021.
PRE-K classes will remain ON-SITE through December 21 as usual.
On-site instruction will continue for Mountainburg Middle School, as attendance is light due to semester testing and a large number of students being exempt from semester tests. MMS students should attend Thursday and Friday to complete testing, and only on Monday for make-up testing.
MHS is currently in remote learning through December 21.
Food Service, Transportation, and Custodial services will continue as normal.
MES teachers and para pros who are not quarantined will report on-site for normal hours and be available for assistance through phone calls, emails, and zoom.
Sincerely,
Dr. Debbie Atwell
Superintendent

Keep learning on Track
We've practiced and rehearsed for a pivot to remote learning, which will rely on technology.
Our students are using their classroom Chromebooks and know how to access lessons and assignments. Because the chromebooks and hotspots need to be checked out and sent home, and many families will need assistance with internet access, and because we are at the end of the semester and wrapping up for the holiday breaks, the assignments sent home for these next three days are review and practice skills.
