A Message from your Principal, Katie Johnson
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!
Together with our staff, I am thrilled to welcome you and your children to the 2023-2024 school year. It is such a honor to be joining the CCSD66 and Elizabeth Ide family. I use the term family because I truly get the sense that our staff and families are one unit working together to support your children, and together we can do so much.
A vast majority of my first month as principal has been spent meeting with our staff one on one to listen and learn. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to meet many of you and your children at Kindergarten Preview, Summer Checkout, and/or Meet the Principal. It is evident that our staff and our community is focused on doing what is best for our students/your children both academically and social emotionally. It my goal to continue to foster our positive student-centered environment which encourages risk-taking, social, emotional and academic growth, and a love for life-long learning. We will accomplish this by staying committed to learning, growing, and owning, not only to ourselves, but to each other, our families and our students!
Our staff has worked hard this summer to prepare for your children; We are eager to welcome you and your children August 16th (K-2nd) and 17th (ECE)! Until then, enjoy the remaining days of summer, and please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback. Your partnership is essential to the success of this school year.
Respectfully,
Katie Johnson
Principal

Class Lists
Generating class lists is one of the most important things schools do to create the foundation for success in the upcoming school year. The process of generating class lists is collaborative in nature and the process involved input from staff members from all aspects of our school. Any information you provided to the former principal was considered during the placement process during the spring. I know you and your children are eager to learn who their 2023-2024 teacher will be so please review the timeline below regarding the release of class placements. Thank you for honoring the work our staff put into creating the 2023-2024 class lists.
Kindergarten students will find out who their teacher is on Monday, August 7th at the Kindergarten Playdate.
All 1st-8th Grade families will have access to their class placement/student schedule on Friday, August 11th.
