Week of May 2, 2021
A Message From Our Principal
Greetings:
This week we celebrated Teachers and Staff! Our Jostens Renaissance and the High School administration provided treats each day for the staff ending with the union support of a luncheon. We love our teachers and hopefully made them feel special!
Letters of appeal are being accepted in all assistant principal offices for students who have 20 days absent in their attendance. Information has been sent to students who will need to appeal their attendance. Any questions, please contact your assistant principal.
SAT’s will be held at the High School this coming Saturday May 8, 2021. If you are taking the SAT’s make sure you arrive early to get checked in and begin to mentally prepare for your test.
As you may know during the spring break we had our musical production of ‘Les Miserables. There were 4 nights of limited seating which was sold out! The performance was recorded and we will be looking to stream the recording next weekend. May 14 will be the performers from the Wednesday/Friday cast and May 15 will be the Thursday/Friday cast. I’m looking forward to viewing both!. Please see below for viewing information.
EHT idol continues! We are now down to the final four. The incredible students are: Jordan Miller, Jayne Moskovitz, Gabe Depaor, and Alexandrea Clurlino. We wish them the best as they prepare to challenge each other for the top two spots! Special shout out to our multicultural club and their advisor Mr. Bell for the promotion of this event. Also, shout outs to Mr, House, Ms. Steet and Mr. Milnes for all their help in working with the students to sharpen their performances and recording them for EHT TV! If you haven’t been voting please look for the link on the High School web page to make your vote count!
Information will be coming shortly about how graduation will run. While the governor has opened the number of outdoor capacity there will be only a certain number permitted in the stands so social distance is in effect. We will release how that will work after our graduation meeting with the graduation committee and the EHT police department. I’m looking forward to a beautiful graduation as always.
Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!

STUDENT: Giavanna Sliwinski
NOMINATED BY: Mrs. Davis
Giavanna is a mature and intuitive young woman. Our classroom teacher is out on maternity leave, and Gia has been a tremendous help and support for me. I never wonder whether she is listening as I read--because she is. Her thoughtful responses assure me of this. Her work is done on time and on point. She makes my job just a bit easier, and my days a bit brighter and these days--that is a treasure.

NOMINATED BY: Mrs. Casto
Ahmad is friendly, kind and empathetic. He especially exhibits these characteristics when a new student joins our class. He immediately welcomes the student and shows genuine interest in getting to know them better. He is a wonderful ambassador for EHTHS!

GOLF
The Eagles had a rough start to the week as they flew to Blue Heron Pines to take on the Falcons of Oakcrest. The storm moved in quickly and the scores reflected that as they lost the battle of the birds. The loss officially eliminated them from contention for the state sectional tournament. Despite the loss, Captain Katie Cabinian led all scores with a 39 and improved her state ranking on her quest for an individual state title. The Eagles flew home for a match Tuesday against the Braves from Buena and improved their record back to .500 with a 185-218 victory. Captain Katie once again led all scorers with a 42. Charlie Jones (44), Ashley Conant (49) and Johnny Neveling (50) rounded out the scoring. Katie, Charlie and Johnny also competed in the Carl Arena Tournament at Blue Heron Pines on Thursday.
