Centennial's Newsday Tuesday
Centennial Elementary Families' Weekly Newsletter 11/16/2021
A Note from the Principal
"Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity...it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." —Melody Beattie
As we prepare to enter into this season of Thanksgiving, I hope you know that our Centennial team is so very grateful to partner with you in supporting your beautiful children and families in the work we do.
Each event we enjoy together magnifies our good fortune...please keep reading for more!
Centennial's Veterans Day Celebration a Great Success (Thanks to our wonderful Veterans, Veterans' Families, Karissa Hinnman, Honor Choir, and PTO!)
On Thursday, November 11, Centennial was honored to welcome over 75 U.S. veterans and their families to our Centennial Veteran's Day celebration on November 11!
From the PTO-provided breakfast, patriotic songs offered by our Honor Choir, and slideshow showing photographs of our Centennial family veterans to the Red, White and Blue balloon arch family photo opportunity, thank you all for making it a beautiful celebration of remembering the contributions of our veterans.
Gentle Reminder: In-Person School Attendance Correlates with High Student Achievement
As Centennial is an EPS "late-start campus," this creates some benefits along with some challenges for families in regards to scheduling extra-curricular activities.
To support student achievement and discourage absenteeism, Edmond Public Schools' attendance policy states that 3 early outs = 1 absence.
For more information about attendance and absences that may be excused, please click here. If you need support with attendance, please call us to see how we may work with you.
Virtual Edmond Transfer Window Closes November 19
The transfer window for families wishing to transfer to Virtual Edmond will close on November 19th.
If your child has been attending VE and you desire to switch back to in-person, please email staci.dauphine@edmondschools.net during the virtual enrollment window. We will be thrilled to welcome your students back to in-person learning!
I appreciate you and wish you and your family a joyfully blessed Thanksgiving holiday and week!
Kind regards,
Ellie Webb, Principal
