The 8th annual Bio-Med Tech-Girls is a collaboration with the UVA Department of Biomedical Engineering and Charlottesville Women in Tech. This week will be filled with guest speakers, hands-on activities, and a design challenge.

Stuck at home this summer? Join Summer Spark, on campus or virtually, for a summer computer science camp hosted by St. Anne's-Belfield CS. Open to all, no prior experience necessary, and completely free.

Summer Camps at Virginia Discovery Museum (TBA)

Virginia Discovery Museum (to be announced in Feb) offers week-long, half-day summer camps for children 4 and older provides opportunities for kids to gain confidence, make friends, and explore a range of STEAM-focused topics through creative and engaging hands-on experiences.

KidsCollege@PVCC offers project-based exploration into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and arts areas.

The Circle Project (TBA)

The Circle Project from Center for Diversity in Engineering at UVA is a program to engage their engineering students with the community and create a pathway of discovery for 1st-12th grade students by introducing them to math, science and engineering concepts.

STEAM Discovery Academy provides unique opportunities for students to experience science while encouraging them to learn how the universe works and to be creative, while developing innovative solutions.

SAM’S Camp for Applied Engineering

Summer at Miller School (SAM's) Camp for Applied Engineering campers will experience engaging activities to solve real-life engineering design challenges, using everyday objects to model solutions to a problem. In addition, time each day will be spent working on a larger building project. Each project will help campers develop proficiency with tools, materials, and procedures.

Camp Invention at Peabody School (TBA)

Camp Invention: Recharge At-Home campers receive four exciting activity kits packed full of materials to get them outside and active as they explore. Campers follow a daily schedule that includes virtual sessions where they receive guidance from their certified educator Coach.

Light House Studio Summer Film Academy (TBA)

Light House Studio offers a wide variety of summer workshops including stop motion, narrative, comedy, documentary, music video, and visual effects. Light House will maintain its small teacher to student ratio so space is limited for in-person opportunities. Virtual options will be provided for each camp/workshop with more than 3 sign-ups.

Ix Art Park Summer Camps

This series of one-week intensive daytime art camps are focused on compelling creature-based themes. Under the guidance of dedicated teaching artists, campers will explore exciting subjects through various artistic mediums such as sculpture, illustration, painting, puppetry, stop motion animation, and more.


  • Who: Creature Builder Collective (6 to 9 years old) and Ix Flix: Stop Motion (10 to 13 years old)

Shields Lab (TBA)

Shields Lab Summer Camp is blasted off in 2021. Each day at camp includes fitness and STEM activities including robots, rockets, circuits, and all the science you can handle.

iD Tech Camp at UVA

Our summer programs strike the perfect balance between STEM skill development and summer fun, allowing students to explore tech interests in a fun yet challenging setting.
