Newsletter Week 10 Term 3
Titahi Bay Intermediate School September 2022
- Last Day of School - Friday 30th September 3.00 p.m.
- Term 4 Starts - Monday 17th October
We have arrived at the end of another term and yes we are finally back in the administration block. There will still be building work happening over the school holidays with the windows on the south side being replaced in Rooms 1, 2 and 3 as well as in the Art block.
We had an amazing Trophy Night on Wednesday and it was great to see our students up on stage being able to perform in Brio, TBI Sing, Band, Kapa Haka and Siva. They have been working hard learning their words, notes and moves and finally had the opportunity to share them with our school community.
A big congratulations to our students who received awards at Trophy Night, we are all proud of your efforts throughout the year. I big thanks to Jessica Kay and Max Ellis for being fantastic hosts on the night.
Next term will be full of a range of learning experiences as we head to the end of the year.
I am sure that you are all looking forward to spending some quality whānau time over the next two weeks.
Keep warm and have a great holiday.
Tu Roa Pilot Programme
Our Tu Roa Pilot programme (Stand Tall) is a multi-faceted educational and mentoring programme that focuses on empowering rangatahi to reach their full potential. Our students have been excited to be a part of this programme working in small group workshops and doing lots of team-building activities while developing their self-confidence as well as building connections within the wider community.
Thanks to Rachel Mckinnon for running this awesome new programme!
Easy Builds with Koro Max Pilot Programme
Our Easy Builds with Koro Max programme has been up and running for 4 weeks. Our students are enjoying working alongside Koro Max and Patsy. Our main focus for students taking part in this programme is Tuakana Teina, budgeting, problem-solving, and learning new skills and strategies to promote confidence in working in a team environment. This group of students are also working together as they build a ride on trolley together.
Well done to all our boys who took part in this tournament. A big thanks to Mrs Emily Farrer for organising and running this event and to Sammie Roomataaroa for managing the team on the day.
We would also like to thank the many supporters who came along and participated in the night, there was great competition and fun was had by all. Hopefully, we will see you all again next year.
