Attention 3rd & 4th Grade Parents
Dear Parents of Rising 4th & 5th Graders,
Thank you to everyone that was able to attend the GOC Blended Classroom Parent Information Meeting last night. If you were unable to join us, please take a moment to review this presentation.
We are very excited about this new partnership, and anticipate great interest. Students will be selected for this class using a lottery system. If you would like for your child to be considered, please follow this link to submit an electronic Letter of Intent. The deadline for entry is Friday 4/21/2017.
It is important to note that these classrooms will be a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) environment, which means that students are strongly encouraged to bring a personal laptop each day to school. In addition, students will need to have a reliable internet connection at home.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Dyer Elementary at 770-963-6214.
Volunteers, Save the Date: Thursday 5/18!
Thank You!
To all of the women and men who take time to volunteer, thank you! It all counts and it all matters. It is hard to know the impact you have on the lives of those you help. Classroom volunteers give teachers a few more minutes that can be spent helping a child. Back-to-school volunteers offer a friendly smile and are prepared to answer question after question - you make new parents feel welcome. Chaperones ride the buses, serve the meals, and so much more. We count on you to keep our children safe.
We applaud each and every parent, grandparent and community member that said "YES" this year and volunteered. You make a difference!
While next week is National School Volunteer Week, it is also a busy week with the Georgia Milestones Assessments. In order to celebrate you with the attention you so well deserve, we will be hosting our annual Volunteer Appreciation Event on Thursday, 5/18. Please mark your calendars, and be on the look-out for an e-Vite with more details in the coming weeks.
"Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation's compassion, unselfish caring, patience and just plan loving one another."
