Principal's Message
Stetson Families:
As we enter the fourth marking period this month, I realize that our school year is quickly moving along. The remaining months will be filled with many more events. I will continue to communicate the happenings at Stetson as we proceed through the marking period. We will have a well deserved Spring Break this month from April 14th - 18th. Please take some time with your family to connect, rest, and have some family fun! Our students will return back to school on Tuesday, April 19th.
PSSA testing will also take place in April and May. I hope you received the email dated 4/7/22 from Mrs. Stephen with electronic device policy, FAQs, and code of conduct. Please see the schedule below:
- April 26, 27, 28 ELA Testing for grades 6th -8th
- May 3rd & 4th Math Testing for grades 6th-8th
- May 5th & 6th Science Testing for grade 8 ONLY
- May 16th & 18th Keystone Exam for Algebra students ONLY
*Please contact Mrs. Stephen (SMS testing coordinator) if you plan on opting your student out of this testing. The only acceptable exemption is for religious reasons and there are specific procedures to follow for this process. Please email her at estephen@wcasd.net to set up an appointment time.
Thank you for looking ahead and planning accordingly.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. Puchalla

Ineligibility
It is Stetson’s mission to help all students maintain passing grades, however, if a student is failing two or more academic subjects, or one academic subject, and two unified arts classes, they will be placed on our ineligibility list. Students who are on the ineligibility list are unable to participate in any extracurricular sport/activity. A report is generated every Thursday to determine eligibility status for the following week.
Water bottles
We are asking students to bring in a refillable water bottle to school with their daily supplies. We have several water stations located around the school for them to refill their bottle to get a drink at any time. The warm weather makes us thirsty, especially after PE class.
If you child has lost their water bottle, please ask them to check the lost and found items in the cafeteria. We have several unclaimed bottles on a table in the cafeteria.
Dress Code Reminder
Please help us in reminding our students to follow our dress code policy. These include crop tops (mid-drift showing), pajama pants, slippers, and wearing hoods inside the school building. As our warm weather approaches, let's make sure our students are dressed appropriately for the school setting. Students who continue to violate the dress code will receive a consequence of after-school detention.
Cell Phone Reminder
Our personal cell phones are not permitted to be used during school hours in the educational setting. Please review the policy below with your student.
Yearbook Info
Thanks to everyone who has already pre-ordered the 21-22 Yearbook! We are excited for you to see all the fun activities and happenings in/around Stetson! If you missed the pre-order window, there will be extra yearbooks to sell after our pre-order distribution. Sales will be on a first-come/first-serve basis; we will NOT be taking reservations for these books. Price will be $35 (exact amount, checks made payable to Jostens or cash will be accepted). Have your son/daughter listen to the announcements for time and place in June that books will be sold. Stay tuned for more details closer to June!
See Miss Verna in B103 or email sverna@wcasd.net if you have any questions!
Announcements from PTO
- Thanks to everyone who ordered Hershey Park tickets in support of the PTO! The fundraiser was a huge success! You will be contacted about ticket delivery/pickup once tickets arrive.
- 8th grade signs (for 'graduation') are now available to order! These are completely optional and all the details can be found here.
- Your Stetson PTO is looking for new board members (2-4) to fill empty spaces next year as a few 8th grade parents move on to Rustin High School. The commitment requires a Zoom meeting once a month and some collaboration/coordination with other PTO members at certain times of the year as needed. We are not giving titles to any board members going forward as we all work together to enhance the home/school connection. If you are interested in helping out for the 2022-2023 school year or if you want to learn more, please send an email to ptostetson@gmail.com
Thank you for considering!
A small thing we can do for our teachers and staff is to provide some treats to show our gratitude. We have lots of open spaces on our teacher snack bowl signup. Please take a look and see if you can help. THANK YOU to all who have already signed up and participated in this act of teacher/staff gratitude and appreciation!
